I totally forgot that Daft Punk helped produce the song Kanye will be performing so they could be apart of that set as well.

Okay now I'm feeling the lineup.
But Video Vanguard for Timberlake? Really? Quite undeserving tbh.

I'd love if Ciara could nab a spot.

Timberlake's probably as deserving as his ex was, so I don't see an issue with it. Though someone like Bjork would be a nice choice- but she's not mainstream enough.

Well, that could be. But, neither he or Ms. Spears are a patch on the very best video artists of the last 30-plus years.

I'm shocked they didn't get any of the rock groups to perform, especially since Fall Out Boy and Imagine Dragons also have big pop hits right now.

I thought Lady Gaga would probably close the show considering what 'Applause' is all about and would be a good closer. But no, Gaga is opening the VMAs! Either way, I'm excited for what Gaga has to bring to the show!

I think we could be in for 'moments' from most of these performers, hope they don't disappoint. Makes up for a lousy year of nominations.

It appears the rumors of Robin and Miley performing a Blurred Lines and We Can't Stop mash up were true. These back up dancers who Miley was rehearsing with today made a video saying they're performing with Miley and Robin on the vmas: t.co/5gc4wLF961

May as well- a little behind NKOTB and BSB, though.

But Justin's starpower + the decade that has passed will make this a huge moment. Are they performing or just presenting JT w/ the Video Vanguard award?

And I hope that someone relevant (or at least somewhat important) does it. May as well- a little behind NKOTB and BSB, though. I doubt Justin would agree to a proper reunion with a new album, a tour, etc. -- he's way above that. The other two groups did it only because none of them produced a star.

In my dream world, Britney Spears would present Justin with the award. But it'll probably be Jay-Z or Beyonce or someone lame.

Here is a bit more about the reunion:
Justin Timberlake and his former *NSYNC band members are set to reunite for a special performance on the VMAs Sunday night at the Barclays Center, sources tell Page Six. MTV announced that Timberlake, who topped the charts in the late ’90s with the band, will perform at the VMAs and receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. But we’re told former bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick are scheduled to join him onstage for a reunion performance. On Friday night, the *NSYNC crew were all spotted in the singer’s VIP section at his concert with Jay Z at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, joining Jessica Biel and Timberlake’s mother, Lynn Harless.

I always thought I wanted an *NSYNC reunion, but now that I am apparently about to get it I don't know how I feel about it.
Justin doesn't feel fitting for the Vanguard award; he just doesn't have a big enough body of work, IMO. Britney's was based pretty much on the first five years of her career, but she did almost 2x more in those five years than Justin has done in eleven...and he normally tries to distance himself from *NSYNC so much that it doesn't really seem right to give him extra points for that. This is definitely a PR move, but I'm just here for the performances so whatever to the awards, which are pretty meaningless these days.

Like...will we award Lady Gaga with the Video Vanguard award next year. LBH, her videography shits on the last two recipients of the award.

Semi-off-topic, wouldn't be surprised if Eminem gets the honor next year when he's back nominated for a ton of VMAs

I can just picture it. `NSYNC opening up with the three words "Bye Bye Bye" and the crowd going wild. Or they'd be dumb and choose one of their soft melodic songs.
