This one's storming up the Alt chart. It sounds a bit more like the American hits.

Did somebody say new Marianas Trench?
https%3A//soundcloud.com/frontside/mrins-trnch-pp-11brly-ft-nm-vc
They're basically making fun of themselves and pop music. It's like the 2014 answer to Blues Traveler's "Hook".

Ill have to give that a listen when I get home. I've always been a MT fan, despite them never having received airplay on Canadian alternative stations. I always thought their first album's singles shoulda received alt airplay, especially "Say Anything"

Gob has an album coming out in a month, and as far as I know there still hasn't been a lead single. Wonder what's up with that.

It's Throwback Thursday!
There are enough forgotten early 00's hits to write a book.

I remember listening to this a long time ago, plus it was on the Men With Brooms soundtrack, and a good chunk of that movie was filmed in Sudbury As for mine, I'm sure everyone knows "American Psycho", but I always liked this one too, and it's kinda become forgotten over the years.

I like a lot of Rush songs. And there's new Gob coming out? Man, I haven't heard anything from those guys in years. They're pretty damn good.

I forgot about "I Hear Your Calling." That is by far my favorite song of theirs. Absolute awesomeness.

"Oh! Ellin" has always been my favourite Gob single.

New singles this week:
Big Wreck - Hey Mama The Tea Party - Black Sea Sam Roberts Band - Shapeshifters Head of the Herd - You Come, You Go Kandle - Not Up to Me
Big Wreck's song is over 6 minutes long so I imagine there's a radio edit. The 30 second preview of "Black Sea" sounds amazing.

Heard this one on Halifax's Live 105 and I thought it was very good and nostalgic-feeling.

Here's snippets of "Radio Hell" and a new k-os song:

I like the sound of "Radio Hell" from that snippet.
I'm surprised it hasn't appeared on Canada-Active and Canada-Alternative yet. They were a pretty big deal when they left off, and Canada is pretty forgiving of long breaks between albums.

I'm curious as how this will do on Alt. It's definitely more Alt-friendly than "Underground".

Pretty solid return though, I'm certainly satisfied. I think it's about as good as "We're All Dying" but not as good as "Banshee Song" or especially "Underground".

Since yesterday was Carole Pope's birthday, here's a true Canadian classic.

That one's pretty good, although hearing it I don't know how many times growing up has me permanently burned out on it But hey, while we're doing popular Canadian classics, I'll go with like the most cliche option I have.
