People slept Thank You. "No" and "Me Too" were bops and translated well live. "Watch Me Do" was my go-to song and I'm still bitter af that "Better" flopped. Meghan is simply too sophisticated for pop audiences. :kii:

no idea why "no" suddenly turned around like it did on radio. it and "24k magic" were the biggest injustices of last year and both should've been much bigger. rip

Better deserved a lot better. Ignoring the pun, I really did love it :/ NO was still a top 3 hit though and did well on radio. People also like to crap on Me Too (I also can't stand it) but seeing how 'hated' it was, if did really well on iTunes, the Hot 100 and even pop radio considering how bland and pretentious it was. I am looking forward to new music from her :)

I'm always going to support her. Both of her albums were okay to me, but she had a handful of songs on each that I've kept and still listen to.

Interested in what she will come up with next. I'm a big fan of Thank You.

Yeah, I love Thank You. I think I actually like it better than her debut, overall.

Ugh, Thank You was (hopefully) the last we'll se of Meghan Meghans. The only songs I liked were Better and No, but the album was complete trash. Better did deserve better (ha) but considering how hard and fast Me Too and No fell, I don't think we'll be getting another top 40 Meghan Meghans it for awhile.

I HAD BEEN WONDERING WHEN THIS WAS COMING! Probably for the holidays.
I'm REALLY curious to see what happens. She can ABSOLUTELY have a killer, successful era, or she can flop. It depends on the material, and what they've figured out went wrong last time.
I think artistically, the public needs a bit of a fresh reinvention from her, with emphasis on the "fresh" part -- because Thank You was definitely a reinvention, but it felt a bit like a girl who was trying to play a generic famous popstar, after getting famous for being an organic combination of an everywoman and yet unique musically.
I think Meghan as a musician needs to deepen herself, because she's at the point in her career where she's going to need to begin sustaining off of a fan base that is into her for her good music, as opposed to a general public being into the new thing on the market. She was a really big hit with the general public, but her fan base will move on unless her music connects with them in a more lasting way than something like Me Too.
At the same time, they may be scared by Better. So it's curious to see what results.
I haven't heard almost anything about a musical direction for MT3. Has anyone else?

I'm extremely curious to see where she goes for her next era. I really enjoyed her last two albums. They weren't amazing by any means, but they had plenty of good songs on them. Sure, she has some problematic lyrics, but honestly a lot of them just come from ignorance, and I believe as she progresses, those anti-feministic lyrics will fade.
All of that aside, I'm just curious to know what her sound will turn into. I think going back to the doo-wop sound would be seen as a retread and wouldn't be welcomed like it was the first time around. I also don't think the sound of Thank You is what she should do either. Most of that album sounds completely dated now even though it's only been a year since its release. I do think there are a few sounds from it, though, that she could experiment more with. Particularly, "Kindly Calm Me Down" comes to mind. I really think Meghan can pull off that modern pop/rock sound and she could refocus on hot AC. The song itself already sounds like it could fit in on a Kelly Clarkson album, haha! Another sound she could experiment with is the tropical vibe in "Better." While it wasn't one of my favorites, I really liked how her voice sounded in it and I think she could actually see success following that sound.
But... she could do something completely different. Like I could totally see her branching a little off of "Me Too" and doing a more urban influenced album. Like, imagine her doing something in the vein of "Strip That Down" by Liam Payne. Not overly urban, but enough to where it would work on rhythmic.
I don't think she's over. She has plenty of potential to come back and score plenty of hits. This next era is pivotal, though. If it flops, she likely won't be able to recover from it.

^You read my mind. This next era is the epitome of "make or break" for her. I'm really curious to hear the sound of her new music because she'll need something fresh and dynamic or else forever be viewed as just another Pop novelty act that fell victim to the "Best New Artist" curse.

I can see this bombing easily. Hopefully not, NO didn't deserve the hate it got and Me Too was dumb but fun. That said she needs to deliver with the material because every mention of her is accompanied by negative comments.

I still think she should try collaborating with Max Martin. I can see them making some great pop songs together.

I find it hilarious how the same girl that did the fifth-rate Beyonce, man hating, wannabe late 90s-early 2000s song NO got engaged. I just find that funny if you think about it like that. But whatever, congratulations to her I guess.

I think she should have stuck with the 60s vibe on her second album. It was what set her apart. I'll reserve judgement on the new album until it's out, but this is really her last shot.

Her 2nd album sold well enough that she gets another chance at popstardom, but nobody can deny that it definitely underperformed what was expected from her based on Title's performance. And when I say it's her "last shot", I mean at mainstream pop success a la AATB. She will definitely be able to continue releasing stuff that may get some traction at AC & HAC, hell she may even make a play for country at some point, but if this album doesn't go hard, she'll never be able to break into the top tier of pop again.

I think "Goosebumps" was really a wasted opportunity in her last era. It could've been HUGE had they release it as a single.

I think "Goosebumps" was really a wasted opportunity in her last era. It could've been HUGE had they release it as a single. I was sorta hoping since she finally released it digitally/streaming for the 1 year anniversary of her album, and it could've been pushed as a single. But oh well, at least it'll always be a fan favorite!

I’m really looking forward to her next album. Title was really good. Thank You was an average album for me but had a few good bops. I’m looking forward to her next album but I agree with others saying this is her last chance to stay mainstream. I wish her luck!

I don't see anything beyond her lead single doing much, and I'm skeptical about how even that will do.
Not that I'm complaining of course.
