Can’t Lainey be counted as big vocalist?
What she did on Heart Like a Truck ...
Personally I don’t like big vocalist and throughtout country music history I don’t think there are many..

I still think Lauren Alaina could've nailed that power ballad niche for the new generation, but she literally hasn't released anything to country radio that even appeals to that void that she could so easily have filled. Gabby Barrett is the closest thing to fulfilling that space right now, and she's also floundering lately despite having the vocal chops and the material to lean into that market easily. Not the "Like My Mother Does" & "Eighteen Inches" erasure LMMD 100%, but it was a bit on the generic side. I LOVE it personally and think her vocals are the strongest selling point of it, but it was a song that at the time of her recording it had been already cut by several other female artists and just didn't scream "breakthrough" hit. Can’t Lainey be counted as big vocalist? What she did on Heart Like a Truck ... Personally I don’t like big vocalist and throughtout country music history I don’t think there are many.. The big glory note on HLAT is a bit of an anomaly for her imo. Lainey Wilson never gives me powerhouse vocalist vibes; she has a strong/solid voice, but she's more Miranda Lambert stylistically to me. Comfortably country with a lot of emotive/storyteller capabilities, but more understated. For me "big" vocalists would be the likes of Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, Gabby Barrett... and not too many else in recent history. There's probably a few others that escape my mind atm.

It's as if being a powerful vocalist isn't in style anymore. See: Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves. Wait, are you implying Zach and Kacey are powerful vocalists?

Tigirlily Gold winning New Duo/Group (competition was slim pickings tho tbf) and performing on the ACMs stage is huge for them! I'm sure that'll definitely help raise their profile some more.

I just don't feel excited for this show at all. Just have kind of felt removed from most of the CMAs and ACMs in recent years. Last year's CMAs was the first one I didn't tune into in probably a decade when I first got into the genre. Not sure if its the lineup or the fatigue at the winners being so predictable year after year.

All I know is that I am disappointed in the unevenness of male and female artists performing tonight. I just looked at the list and there is supposed to be 11 male performers and only six female performers. Now, some of them are collaborations but still, that's a big difference.

Ugh, I just want new solo Kelsea Ballerini solo music. This is a fine performance, but I am ready for new music from her.

I really enjoyed the Noah Kahan/Kelsea Ballerini performance! Their songs together make for a really cool mashup.
Noah's Stick Season album has been very successful. I'm looking forward to his next album and where his career goes next!

I still maintain they should combine Duo and Group, and I still maintain Parmalee should have been nominated over Flatland Calvary.

Saw Kelsea’s performance on Twitter. “Mountain With a View” is my favorite from RUTWM. Kind of wished she’d just have done the whole song solo, cause I was really eating it up at the beginning when she was solo, then when that Noah guy came on and mashed it up with his song, I felt like it wasn’t as good.

I really like their song “A Life Where We Work Out” from their album that came out in 2016. They opened for Luke Combs on some dates last summer - including the show I was at. They were really solid!
