Her next album sales are going to be super telling about interested people actually are. I think she will do decently but I honestly don’t think she will do better than Megan Moroney… And we’ll see what that does for Meg at next year’s awards.

Of course, there is no such thing as an overnight success. Everyone pounds the pavement and pays their dues, but she is winning some huge awards on the strength of just 5 solo singles. It does feel like too much too fast. Maybe take a little bit of her radio love and spread it to some other female artists. That’s all. And yet just a few weeks ago this was your approach to radio "spreading the love" to another female artist: Lol, even if this ends up being "a one hit wonder," it would still mean this song is a hit. Well, we’ll see where it ends up. And if she has a career after it peaks. Dead. Died. Dies. Go away. ETA: fwiw, I agree that more women should get this kind of love! But it's just so idk weird to me that there's just so much of this discourse around "Lainey is mid and overrated" when I just can't help but be extremely happy for her and feel like her rise is a step in the direction of getting more females back on top. I've said it before and 3chords touched on it before, but I think Megan Moroney will be competing alongside her at the top of the genre very soon. She is on the precipice of blowing up into a superstar herself. Before Lainey, it had been a LONG time since the industry had embraced a woman as wholeheartedly as they have her, but I see it as good news for other females moving forward, not a detriment.

This is a really fun song! Will definitely be one of the big hits of 2024.

Although Bell Bottom Country first week’s sales is not that good it has longevity. It also made into top100 on billboard year-end chart. While Megan’s debut album does not has longevity. So even Megan may have more hype regarding streaming but as for now when it comes to album sales she can’t compete with Lainey,at least for now I’m not saying how well Lainey’s album sales is It’s just general female country artist albums sales are bad Lainey is the only one with longevity the only female can have an album on top 25 persistently other than Taylor Swift

You’re fantastically salty about my dislike for a TikTok artist that I don’t find appealing at all. Just because I don’t like Dasha and her Hanes Her Way undies poking out of her pants doesn’t mean I don’t like female artists. Frankly, Kelsea should have won FVOTY and Album of the Year last night. Kacey is one of my favorite artists of all time, but she does not get the radio love she deserves. And I want Maren back. My love for female artists is immense, but not monolithic. It’s just frustrating to see someone like Miranda beat the boards for years and years and finally won EOTY once after 15+ years, but it just feels like they are handing it to Lainey just because she duets with everyone. That’s all.

Lainey had two and a half and Megan had one, so Lainey of course will have better longevity. Also this debuts at #23 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart this week.

I think Megan will surprise people is all I’m saying 😂, came here right from her IG post of her headlining show. (She’s also only 26!) I don’t consider her a strong vocalist by any means but she played the game completely right and attracted a ton of the Taylor fanbase. And I’m sure Lainey will have a strong album that hangs around based on her singles. (I like the one she previewed in Vegas with ML). I do feel bad for Kelsea because ROTWM was definitely her breakthrough after being stuck in the same place for a few years. But her next album will also be interesting to see with a full tracklist in this new era of her popularity. I think she and Meg will both do better than Lainey. Who has the most stability we shall seeeeee!

There are pictures of her doing radio interviews this past week with her underwear hanging out of her pants. Only saying that she continues to do little to impress. I also don’t like it when Bailey Zimmerman takes his clothes off on stage at his shows. Like, have a little respect for the genre and the music.

This is exactly one of the top reasons why so many women like Lainey Wilson; I can't even count the number of times I've seen comments by country fans blasting the likes of Maren and Kelsea for the "skimpy" way they dress. (For the record I don't agree with the negative feedback, but Lainey's modest way of styling herself appeals to a wide base.) And I'm not "salty" about you disliking Dasha because as of yet I only know/like one song of her's myself, but "Austin" is turning into a major hit and fast for a female artist which is a rarity, and you seemed bound and determined to dispute and discredit its success... which seems very odd when here you are weeks later lamenting that more women aren't being shown love at country radio. 🤷

Who has the most stability we shall seeeeee! I'm excited to see where Kelsea goes next era too because I think her last year was a bit of an oddity because she it was clearly her biggest overall in terms of connecting with the masses, but it was simultaneously her weakest year at country radio since she debuted. I think it was more of a fluke than anything tho because obviously the EP snuffed out some of the hype for her album that she was promoting to radio, but the EP wasn't exactly viable for mass radio play ("Blindsided" didn't even do well as a pop single when they tried it @ radio). If she/her team come in hot with her fifth album and play it to all of her strengths, she could definitely be looking at a huge era as well.

Everything about it just feels huge from literally all of the pre-releases doing well on streaming.

I believe she is the only country female to debut after Taylor to lead 3 top 40s on the Hot 100.
It'll be interesting to see if, like Carrie, she can help usher in a new era with a Taylor & a Miranda to come. Carrie similarly won on her first (and second) CMA nom for Female Vocalist, with Miranda & Taylor getting their first noms the next two years.

This song is actually awful, I had to turn it off. First song she's released that I downright hate.
As far as Lainey Wilson herself, I don't find her overrated at all lol. She has one of the best female voices in the game and comes out with some of the best music, too. Obviously it is all subjective, but she's fantastic and is 100% deserving of all her success IMO.

This song reminds me so much of "Wrong Night" by Reba; a fiery uptempo jam where everything about it is catchy as hell, and yet for some reason it just doesn't seem to be what most of the consumers are looking for with regards to her career at this moment. At least in our small sample size here on Pulse.

That’s a great analogy, though I think in the long run, “Hang Tight Honey” will be the bigger hit. “Wrong Night” was a fun, great song, but shouldn’t have been the third single from If You See Him. “Lonely Alone” was scheduled to be third up until the last minute, and would’ve been a much better choice.

Oh yeah, I'm still sticking by my initial assessment that this will be the biggest hit she has had yet at this point in her career!
And RIP to "Lonely Alone" :'( If You See Him is pretty much a perfect album, to where anything on it would have had hit potential, but for some reason "Wrong Night" has always kinda stuck out like a thumb on that album. Not a sore thumb, just a normal thumb that faces a different direction from all the other fingers, lol. "Lonely Alone" would have probably been a bit more in line with what people were expecting from Reba at the time!
