Currently at #39 on alternative but with a (barely) negative bullet. I didn't find a thread for this with the search function so I'm assuming this is another one that flew under the radar. I just sought this out for the predict the peaks thread, and it's quite a good song. Hopefully it can stick around a long time and do some legitimate damage.

This has been heavily advertised for on AllAccess' website for weeks now. It was spun on the most recent Out of Order show. Based on the imagery in those ads, I was thinking "Oh, another Owl City...", but the song wasn't anything like I had anticipated, and it actually earned my approval right away.
It's really a bad time for predicting the outcomes of these songs on the chart right now, since nothing is really trending right now. But I wouldn't expect a song like this to hit the top half. But perhaps curiosity could keep it hanging around the bottom half for long enough to fall to recurrent, sort of like with that XX song that's seemingly been at about #40 since before "Savior" ever hit the chart.

This is apparently the dude from Under the Influence of Giants, of "Mama's Room" fame.

This band's name makes me think of Sepulnation.

Is that the Sepultura fan club, by any chance?

Haha those people would probably be nuts if it is. Fun fact, my band was briefly managed by the manager of Sepultura, but he didn't really do much for us after we paid him $10,000 for his first stint, so I now sorta have some bad associations even though the band is kinda neat.

His voice is a bit weird (I don't mind it), but I think the track itself sounds really awesome with the vocals being something I have to tolerate.

The voice is distorted, it almost sounds like they did it to put an edge on it as compared to how he sounded when doing Mama's Room, which i admit to really liking when it was out. Doesn't hold up much a few years later. I like this song though, not the best thing I've heard but will definitely get a few more spins.

Nice. Now if only the Naked & Famous could follow suit.

^ I felt the same. But I like this song, so I'm happy for it. I checked another song by AWOLNATION, didn't really like it at all (I think it's called "Burn It Down"?)

I'm glad it ended up doing so well. I still think 4 and 1/2 months to get in the Top 10 is slow and ridiculous as the format's been the last 3 years, but at least it's one of the best current songs around at the moment.

Top 50 on Active:
61 49 AWOLNATION Sail 89 62 27 0.159
I actually thought this would have happened awhile ago. I know it's not really an active rock type song, but it's sorta heavy in its own way, and it had a handful of early supporters on active rock around the time it was in the 40s on alternative.

Not to be a jerk, but "Sail" is a lot better than most of the new Skillet album. This is not to diss Skillet, but to diss all new Skillet that's not awesome like "Awake And Alive", which is currently the exception to the rule that new Skillet blows.

If I were to review them, I'd give Comatose and Collide something in the 3.5/5 to 4/5 range and I'd give Awake something around a 2 or 2.5. Without "Awake And Alive", I'd put that record on the level of Hinder, which is VERY sad considering songs like "Rebirthing" and "Comatose" are all-time favorites

I rather like Awake too. I can't say anything about prior albums besides their singles because I never heard them in entirety.

Without "Awake And Alive", I'd put that record on the level of Hinder, which is VERY sad considering songs like "Rebirthing" and "Comatose" are all-time favorites I'm basically with you on this. I've only heard "Comatose," but thought it was much better than "Awake." "Comatose" immediately pulled me in with it's catchiness and flow of variety of meanings behind each song. No song on the album was a disappointment for me, really. When I first heard "Awake," besides "Hero" and "Awake & Alive," I really didn't think much of it. I figured I'd eventually warm up to it, but almost the whole rest of the album seemed like one continuous song and trend of songs about a failed relationship. It really did remind me of something from Hinder or Saving Abel, just with more talent.

While Awake wasn't exactly the greatest album it did have some enjoyable songs AAA, Hero, Monster, Lucy, Sometimes and One Day Too Late were all pretty good songs. The rest I could take or leave. That said the album has finally gotten them the expose they deserve and as long as the next album has no "SWYC" moments and is a step up from where they went with Awake then I'll have no problems with it.
