Haha Well, that song is a guaranteed holiday perennial gainer. Gains may or may not lessen with Thanksgiving day out of the 7-day rolling period mix. Not sure, but I think gains do lessen overall for holiday titles (some even decreasing) and then build up again the week of Christmas.

But, Christmas songs really are only gaining at AC stations. For instance, mainstream top 40 doesn't really give holiday tunes a lot of play until Christmas week. Even then, though, the amount of play pop gives holiday tunes pales in comparison to AC stations. There also will be year-end-countdown play that will slow growth for some tracks.

Most recurrent airplay in general comes from AC- and holiday music is no different. Come Christmas week, AIWFCIY will be the most-played holiday track at pop, but with less play than at AC.

Here's on example, from back in 2005, for the period of Dec. 21-Dec. 27th (Wednesday-Tuesday period). This was the Pop Golds chart.

I'm sorry, I love No Love, but unlike his previous singles this era, it didn't take off. ever. Instead of watching it doing nothing, they should have released another single and fast. Had he done that, his weekly album sales wouldn't have dropped from 100K to 30K. I believe that his high & consistent sales were derived from 2 good singles coming after one another. and then - nothing major for months. bad strategy - I think that way he could have hit 3.5 or even 4M by year end. ùáú ùìåí

I would think so- it's currently at No. 3 on the daily Mediabase chart. Spins counts are even lower than normal on the AC chart, with recurrents getting the bulk of play. So, as a new holiday track, Mimi should have little trouble reaching No. 1. In recent years, Kimberly Locke snagged three No. 1s on AC with holiday titles.

^Have you heard all of the new Christmas songs for this season? it's cute, but not as good as 'All I Want..." (which it essentially is a lyrical rewrite). Coldplay's new track sounds nice.
