"Motivation" retained its bullet on Hot 100 Airplay this week, but got nudged down to 14*- Nos. 12* and 13* are bulleted. Nos. 9 and 10 are declining, so it may not crack top 10.

I think it's been asked before and just never answered, but do the "more Mediabase" updates just come in later, or what? Because there are songs that are making steadily huge gains and/or already have a notable number of airplay points, yet they are never included in the original list. I mean I know it's really, really, really important for us to see how Kelly's is-it-or-isn't-it-the-single is doing right away but I'm not sure why its first day somehow gets to leapfrog huge gains from say, The Band Perry or Lupe and Trey.

All those updates are from people manually searching mediabase. It's like asking your friend to go outside every morning ad measure how much each blade of grass is growing. It takes a lot of time and is being done for free by people with special access. The fact that we get ANYTHING at all is a big old gift to us chart nerds. Be appreciative rather than complaining.

Explaining, there are two ppl who update the mediabase manually with the ''quick cut info'' one is me and the other is my friend Fabio, he updates the major list with a lot of current singles which the artists have more fans on the brazilian forum we are joined.
Then, I update with the other artists, a lot of artists a like lol and other artists are gaining airplay! The fact is he does the updates earlier than me, cuz its the only time he has to do it, and then I update it later, so we have to share two lists.

I just think it's important for people to know that work goes into it - I don't have access (or time) to provide these updates and think it's exceptionally nice that we get them at all. Believe it or not there was a time not too long ago when online updates were provided by people writing down info from hard copies of Billboard, this sort of daily in depth data is a very new phenomenon. |

^I wasn't complaining. I agree that people shouldn't. I was just making an observation that a lot of more successful songs get overlooked on the initial updates in favor of others and always found that odd.
The fact that it's done by manual search explains why we get some songs over others (more interest in certain artists' progress than others). I knew that you had to have access but did not know that each song had to be searched individually (as opposed to there just being a big list of updates to pull from). Thank you for the explanation. That was all I wanted.
