Yes- the airplay reported for today is the first tracking day for the next chart. (Wednesday's report was for the chart dated 8/6).
Barring a notable sales gain, LFN will not be No. 1 on the Hot 100, though.
The gains for "I Wanna Go" are very good- will it approach TTWE's airplay? The singles' performance at radio definitely have not been the norm for Spears. HIAM didn't have that impressive a chart run (9 weeks in the top half of on the Hot 100), but still managed a strong airplay peak. Aside from giving Spears her highest weekly BDS-era audience peak, TTWE has enjoyed a decent Hot 100 run, especially for her (the 8/13 chart will be its 22nd week in the top 50).
And now, IWG will become her third top 10 on the Hot 100- her first instance of an album yielding three top 10 hits on the Hot 100. (Sure, some of her earlier singles probably would have cracked top 10 if a CD single was available- but same can be said for a number of other hits from that era, that did not have CD singles).

:) It's weird how after 12 years since her debut, US radio finally LOVE her. In her earlier career, (aside from ClearChannel boycott in 2001-2003) she was so struggle to get a top 10 or 20 airplay hit. What happens actually?

So, did every single Clear Channel station not play her new releases during 2001-2003? I'd find that hard to believe. :) Perhaps they didn't play them AS MUCH as some of her other hits, but a total blackout (no pun intended) of her new releases in that period, I have doubts about that.
Radio is giving her lots of love in this era- most of it is from Pop, which always has been her core format, but Rhythmic and Adult Top 40 have been stronger than usual this era, too.

"Cheers" is getting some fast love out of the gate. Just shows how poorly chosen CKB and Man Down were -- easily two of the worst single choices she's made in her career. I'm shocked CKB ended up hitting the Hot 100 top 40. Radio clearly was hungry for a better single from her.

Yes, maybe But for an artist as huge as Britney (back in 2001-2003) and with some radio-friendly singles, some of them even failed to chart on Hot 100 Airplay. A bit weird, right?

^Yes and no- when you look at what some of those tracks were- "I'm Not a Girl...," "Overprotected," "Boys"- I don't think any of them were among her better singles. Mega-fans may have dug them, but they apparently did not resonate all that well with the casual audience. They're among the tracks I skip when I've listened to her first compilation. Not that the quality has anything to do with radio play, of course.
We saw that even with the improved airplay in 2003-2004 ("Toxic" and "Everytime," radio didn't bite much with "Outrageous." (That latter track, along with the three mentioned above- definitely not among my select group of Spears favorites.) And then we saw her struggle more at radio with the singles from Greatest Hits: My Prerogative and Blackout, before returning to decent radio fortune with Circus.

Well, most clear channel stations did. She chose concert west or aeg.as her concert promoter instead of clear channel. As a result, they lackluster her from radio during the 'Britney' era. I remember when not a girl was added to 90 stations the first week and wasn't played. Slave 4u wasn't added as quickly nut was dayparted and played mainly in the evening....as soon as she went with them for her onyx hotel.tour the.blackest was lifted...entered toxic. I can only imagine how toxic would have done.if itwas released before.the tour deal was inked. But her team didn't seem to care in 01 because Britney was able to sell without radio as long as she.promoted and had mtg on.her side. Would have loved to see hit top 15, not a girl hit top40, overprotected and boys land somewhere in the top 40 but such is life. Me against the music was lame so.I can't see it.doing. that much better.

I thought only gainers over 1 million were bolded.......now the bar is going to go lower + lower and we will have everything over 0.500 bolded which will be too confusing

^LOL No- as you see, even with the bar at 800K, it's still just a dozen titles. :)
When I post the info, I vary the bold threshold, depending on how many gainers there are at a particular level. Today, there are no 900K-999K gainers in this batch, and just one 700K-799K gainer. So, I figured 800K+ was fine to showcase.

^ It's amusing that anyone would have an "issue" with something so miniscule. That's my reaction. "Man Down" performed alright at its core formats- better than "California King Bed," anyhow. Though CKB had stronger sales, perhaps thanks to exposure in the Nivea commercials, live performances and pop radio (which has shown to provide more of a boost to singles sales than other formats).

IIRC, "Umbrella," "Take a Bow," "Live Your Life," "Rude Boy," "Love the Way You Lie," "Only Girl (In the World)," "What's My Name?," and "S&M" have all been #1 on airplay. So 8.

I think we should merge Man Down and King Bed into one single and say that it peaked at 60 million AI. Not too shabby huh?
