As per AT40's usual practice, the skip weeks DO count towards the "weeks on" totals. As such, everything that was on the chart prior to the holidays gets 2 additional weeks.

2 skipped weeks does wonders for chart movement, too. However, as these things go, next week will, probably, feel slow.

Ryan mentioned that "I Knew You Were Trouble" is the 2nd highest debut, ever, behind "Born This Way". It appears he forgot about "4 Minutes", which debuted at #12.

Also, you didn't include the frozen weeks in the total weeks the droppers spent on the chart ("Oath" would never have made the countdown at all with only the last two weeks.)

If memory serves, only two other songs have debuted higher in the Seacrest era: "Born This Way" (#9) and Madonna's "4 Minutes" (#12).

Special credit goes to Avril Lavigne's "My Happy Ending" (also a #13 debut). It was, never, formally acknowledged as a debut. It showed up late to the party due to, presumably, Mediabase error and they just, sort of, snuck it in to get the chart back on track.

I know. I have always included the extra weeks with the charting songs. Whenever Ryan mentions how many weeks a song has been on a the chart, these weeks are included, so that's a given.

I suppose it's open to debate as to whether or not to include the extra weeks for the droppers. My practice has always to been to end their runs with the last "official" chart they appeared on. Which, in this case, would've the 12/15 show. Likewise, this is the first "official" chart for the 7 new entries, even though some of these songs would, no doubt, have debuted in the past 2 weeks had regular shows been run. Ryan would, surely, credit them as debuts so it's "week 1" for all.

I love these type of weeks!

This would be a typcial 80's old school chart, maybe even a little more active than usual.

This week's AT40 Hot AC chart is very active too. 5 debuts with Taylor Swift debuting at #21. She also had a huge drop out of the top 10 with her previous hit. Interestingly, both charts did not reflect the huge drop of Ke$ha's "Die Young", which means these big moves most likely occurred before Christmas. So while next week's charts will probably considerably slower, look for Ke$ha to take a big fall, especially on the Hot AC chart.

At least it's an "apples to apples" comparison.

I just checked today's rolling chart and Gotye is up 309 spins over last week. Not sure when AT40's chart was generated, but right now, STIUTK would fall somewhere between "Wanted" and "Va Va Voom."
