It was the week of Halloween, and that means Michael Jackson's "Thriller" gets it's annual resurgance of airplay and is back on the "New and Active" list (moreso on the basis of being "active" rather than "new"). Incidently, Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt Kickers' "Monster Mash" is also back among the top 10 gold. Naturally, we can expect more of this sort of thing in the next couple months. Adam Sandler's "The Thanksgiving Song" will, no doubt, pick up by the end of November (it, in fact, returned to the top 100 last year during it's peak week), and Christmas songs will repopulate the gold listings throughout December.

That's because the "weeks on chart" data were incorrect, even from the start. I'm wondering if they inadvertently used the WOC data from the Indicator chart, since songs tend to debut on that before they enter the CHR/Pop Top 50 chart.
They really need someone there to proofread the chart to make sure a song has really been on for 20 weeks before shipping them off to recurrentland. Conversely, they need to check other songs to make sure they don't stay on longer than 20 weeks, such was the case with a recent Sean Paul hit (title escapes me at the moment)
