Nice to see "In Da Club" drop seven spots... even though it'll probably move back up to like #30 next week.

Bleh... isn't this the second time already since Ryan started hosting that "Lose Yourself" was featured as an extra?

Why do I have this bad feeling that in several weeks from now "In Da Club" will be played as an extra in honor of it being #1 exactly 1 year ago?

Ryan just said that "Toxic" was Britney's first top 5 since "You Drive Me Crazy"? Um, that's not correct.

American Top 40 has had mistakes posted here and dating back to R&R and dating back to when Casey hosted, so it isn't a big deal to me.

The Top 5 recap was not done this week. LaCrosse Boy said he liked that feature & wished AT40 would have done it more in the past, wonder what he thinks this week.

Yes, I did like the recap feature a lot. Another feature that was somewhat started back in Casey's day.
Back in the early days of AT40 they would play what I believe were the top 3 songs from the previous week--I can go back and check on this, but I am fairly certain.
The feature was dropped due to more features being added to the show.
It's nice to hear the last weeks top 5 songs in pieces. Ellen K did it on RT30, Hollywood does it on WT30, and Rick Dees does it on his show. A common feature that is fun to hear--and like most things having to do with a countdown, pioneered by AT40. :)

Yep... they started that feature in February 1979, a few months after AT40 expanded from three to four hours. By 1981 they'd occasionally only play the top two (and sometimes only the #1 song, like on the 7/11/81 show), and the actual playing of the songs was phased out completely by the mid '80s. The spoken recap lived on, though (except for a handful of Shadoe shows).

Another show where they only played the number one song of the previous week was on the 2/14/81 show. This could have been the first show like that, because Casey explained that they usually play the top three songs of the previous week before kicking off the countdown, but there wasn't enough time for that, so he read off songs three and two and then played the number one song of last week.

The feature was dropped due to more features being added to the show. I don't buy it!! What? A 15 second or at most 30 second recap adds more features. They are blowing smoke up....... It reminds me of when the show went from 3 to 4 hours. The line was the songs are getting longer we need to add a whole hour to the show. If my memory is correct....What really got me was the last three hour show contained the Meat Loaf's 8 minute song Paradise By The Dashboard Light. During the longer show, the 8 minute song was nowhere to be found. ???
