It's good to hear semi-obscure songs as extras, such as "Pony." I can't remember the last time I heard that song on the radio. It might've been played on "The Rhythm Countdown With Ellen K" a couple years ago.

Wow; your spelling is orgasmic. "Alica" Keys, Christina "Mullin", "Emenem", Christina "Agurlina". Haha, awesome.

What about the famous Ashlee Simpion? Can't forget her.
Also, "My Preotive" by Britney Spears. Question: What exactly is a preotive, and do I want to know?

Shouldn't Eminem have debuted at no. 13 (or was it 14)? Does AT40 not use Mediabase anymore?

When Terror Squad is in the top 10, you know something has to be wrong with the chart.
Horrors.

Ryan said that Eminem joins Britney and Avril as artists who have debuted in the top 20 this year. Funny, I don't remember radio jumping on any Avril song that quickly ;)

AT40 was messed up and for some reason they didn't add in "My Happy Ending" until it was at #13 on their chart. It should've debuted weeks earlier.

And if you think "Yeah!" is going to leave any time soon, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you. ;) So the big question for next week's chart will, no doubt, be: Is Avril gonna be #1? We shall see...

I don't think so. AT40 doesn't seem to like poor little Avril. They were reluctant enough to let her into the top 10. Hell might freeze over before she's #1 on their chart.

I don't listen to AT40, so many someone can help me with this. Is the "Rewind" song supposed to be one that was on the chart this week during a selected year? Because if so, they royally screwed up this week. Not only was "Pony" never on the chart in October, but by October 1997 it had been off the chart for more than half a year! It would have been more fitting to use the song in January.

I think they just randomly pick a song from some year. I don't think they care if it was on the chart or not during the same month or something.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

AT10 started using this practice as well, playing an "AT10 Archive" song that wasn't from the same time of year. It makes things more interesting. I think when Ryan Seacrest began hosting AT40, he played a number one song from X years ago this week. Later on, I believe for awhile, the songs were from the same week, but they weren't number one songs.

Supposedly, the song somehow was charting as two separate entries, the other being called "(So Much For My) Happy Ending". With two titles, that would have divided the airplay roughly in half, hence causing neither song to receive enough airplay to register on the AT40 chart.

How did the radio stations know which one they were playing?

That title had no more than 10 spins in any week, and the two titles were combined into one well before the song approached the top 40.

That title had no more than 10 spins in any week, and the two titles were combined into one well before the song approached the top 40. That's what I thought too, but AT40 seems to use an entirely different chart. When I first heard it played on AT40, (at #13) no one even mentioned it was a debut. In fact, they said as little as possible about it. It almost seemed like the programmer had forgotted about the song for the last six weeks, and finally had woken up and stuck it in there as inconspicuously as possible.

Funny, I don't remember radio jumping on any Avril song that quickly ;) Whether it was a legitimate debut or not, if he hadn't mentioned it, people would've said, "He left out Avril. She debuted at #13 this year."
