Before announcing the #1 song, Ryan mentioned that AT40 debuted the weekend of July 4, 1970. He also mentioned that, back then, the show was only 3 hours and aired on 7 stations. To top it off, he played a snippet of Casey announcing the first #1, Three Dog Night's "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)."
