This is a MAJOR shake-up for AT 40. I hope their chart moves a little quicker throughout the new year than in '05.

Keep in mind, last week's show was probably using airplay data from the middle of December. There's usually larger than normal movements on AT40 on the second show of the year as they play catch-up.

This chart matches up to the December 23, 2005 R&R chart, (I can tell, based on some of the chart positions). Everything from #33 on up on that chart is on AT40, plus songs 34 and 35 drop out of the countdown this week. 36 through 40 would be "next up".

So they skipped the December 2 and the December 16 chart. I sure hope that means that they're back to being only one week behind. Of course, we'll have to wait and see; I'll betcha anything that they'll be using unprinted Mediabase charts for the next two weeks, which would correspond to the "unofficial" lists of December 30 and January 6. I guess we'll have to wait and see until next week.

Yep, just another example of how his show is becoming more and more like Dees'.

Or maybe they have another high school student doing research of past charts, just like they did back in 1989, when Shadoe Stevens erroneously mentioned that "Two Hearts" by Phil Collins was the biggest fall from #1 (fell to #10) since Barry White's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe", even though several songs fell from the top around that same time period, and the most recent one was the 1-11 drop of "Do You Know Where You're Going To" by Diana Ross in early 1976. In fact, I think it was thirteen years before to the week that the Phil Collins song made such a big drop.

Oh well, at least they don't have that little brat Allison on the show anymore...

Well the show isn't about the music anymore, it's about the host. And besides, nobody really follows the chart anyway do they?

And is "Scars" becoming the latest challenger to the 3DD record and how close will it come to the record?

"Scars" needs to stick around for another two-and-a-half months to tie 3 Doors Down. "Here Without You" was on for 50 weeks. If "Scars" continues to drop as slowly as it has, then perhaps it has a shot (if only by a narrow margin). If it's losses pick up, probably not.

This is not what was said on the show. I've just been listening to it on tape today, and he was talking about the song before One Wish. He said that Natasha Bedingfield's song Unwritten in moving from 40 to 23 was the biggest mover since October, 2004. He didn't mention which song did it that month. He was not talking about the highest debut.
