This is part of the reason why pop radio is so bad these days. Because songs get played ad nauseum and stay on that chart for what seems like eons. Not to mention that the quality of the music has gone downhill severely. Maybe I am just showing my age.

I know this really doesn't address this particular show more later. However, you are showing your age because radio has changed greatly in the past decade. Niche marketing is the reason and this is tied in with fewer owners within a particular market. Anyone who experienced radio in the past doesn't like these changes.

The only thing about this niche marketing that doesn't make any sense is Seacrest doing both the Pop & Hot AC. Then again, it does because of the cost-cutting measures by the big companies. However, if we go back to the statements made by Premiere and that they didn't want Casey competing against himself in a market, the whole Seacrest hosting Hot AC makes it appear that Premiere is caught in a little double talk.

I give Seacrest credit for restraint this week. I was looking for the "important me" or American Idol comment when mentioning that Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell will hosting a Christian talent contest. Good job, Seacrest!!!

However, the fact that he used KIIS-FM morning show interviews for this week's show demostrated laziness. I love it when you can hear Ellen K laughing in the background. The interview was with an actor who didn't even have a song on the countdown. Of course, the interview featured Seacrest talking about himself and that he was 31 years old. Not a good job

Not quite. Other than PCD's ascent to the top, this chart matches up to the January 13 chart. Sorry to burst your bubble ;)
