Sometimes I use too many words, so many words that my songs are 10 minutes long or longer. It's hard work simplifying a song. When it works, it could be so good."
°(Spotlight from 1981) Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield; song is based on his own experience, though he changed his friend's name for the song.
°(#1 This Week in 1999) From This Moment On - Shania Twain; her original dream was to become a backup singer to Dolly Parton. She has since sold over 65mil albums worldwide.

°(Spotlight from 1983) Uptown Girl - Billy Joel; "When I started to write the song, I was a divorced Rock Star & I had all these women wanting to go out with me. So it was originally called "Uptown Girls", not "Girl".
°(#1 POP This Week in 2007) Irreplaceable - Beyoncé; "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" is the current #1 on the Urban Chart. She says she would love to play "Wonder Woman" in a movie. "It's a very bold choice. A black "Wonder Woman" would be a powerful thing, and I think it's time for that."

So, I had them change my contract so there was no set time between albums. If an album takes 5 years, it takes 5 years. If it's not right, it can't be rushed. I recorded songs when my voice is over dubbed dozens, even hundreds of times. It takes a long time in the studio, and it will be impossible to duplicate it in a concert. I thought about touring someday, but when I look at how to do it. Well, it can't be done."

Dear Casey,
Two Thousand Five was a very difficult time for me. I was living in Nevada, my marriage was failing, and I was alone. I felt as if nothing would ever be right again. Well, I'm glad to say that I was wrong. That's when I met Dan. He was my best friend's brother who was visiting from LA. We both knew there was something there, but of course, the timing wasn't right & Dan didn't want to get in the way of my marriage. A year later when my husband and I separated, I got an email from Dan. It was like a light bulb turning on. He flew in to visit his sister, and we all went out together. The rest is history. Since then, we haven't been apart for more than a few days. We're now married and have a beautiful 12 month-old daughter. He and my daughter are my everything. I'd like to dedicate Norah Jones' "Come Away with Me" to my husband Dan. From the first moment I met him, I knew he was the only one for me. Life has a funny way of knowing just what you need.
