Dear Casey,
Though I've listened to your radio program for as long as I can remember, I never thought that I'd be asking you for a Long Distance Dedication, but here goes. I met Larry in 1982. He was a blue-collar guy who worked for the Department of Transportation. He also had a second job, peddling newspapers in South Philly in front of a subway that I took every morning. He had the most beautiful blue eyes, and we spent a year making eyes at one another. Finally on New Years Day of 1983, I thought why not ask him to go out for a drink? He wasn't working the newsstand that day, but he was on the street watching the parade. We went out and after that, we started seeing each other. But Casey, I was young and had my heart broken so many times before. So when Larry shared his true feelings, I didn't respond right away. I'm sure he thought that I took his words of true love for granted, and I lost him. That was in the Winter of 1985, and he's been on my mind for all these years. I wonder if he still thinks of me once in awhile with a smile. Casey, can you please play "Don't You (Forget About Me)"? I don't know how this works but, if he should contact you, would you please tell him how to find me? Thank you very much from all of us who need your radio show to express their feelings.
Sincerely,
Noreen

°(Spotlight from 1987) La Bamba - Los Lobos; movie was about Ritchie Valens.
°(From 2007) Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5
°(From 1999) Genie in a Bottle - Christina Aguilera; "I never felt that "Genie" did that (showcase her voice). I wanted a rougher edge. They wanted a guaranteed hit. It was a compromise, and it made me swear I'd never compromise again."
°(Spotlight from 1984) Purple Rain - Prince and The Revolution
°02. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz: holding for 4th week & 43rd week in the top-10; song so far has the best chance of being the top AC song for 2009.
°(Spotlight from 1981) 9 to 5 - Dolly Parton
°(From 2001) Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning) - Vertical Horizon; their next album "Burning the Days" is due August 11.
°(Spotlight from 1980) Xanadu - Olivia Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra
°01. Love Story - Taylor Swift: holding for 4th week & 4th week at #1; At age 11, she convinced her parent to take a vacation in Nashville instead of DisneyWorld. "We'd pull up in front of a label on Music Row and I'd walk in and say: "Hi, I'm Taylor. I'm 11. I really want a record deal." She had no luck during the trip, so she convinced her folks to move to Nashville. "My parents moved across the country so I could pursue a dream."
