Goes to radio a week from Monday from Billboard.biz. Lead single from upcoming Awesome As Fuсk compilation. I've been incredibly underwhelmed by the last several Green Day radio releases. Maybe this will bring them back.

Title reminded me of "Coffee & Cigarettes".

I doubt this will get an adds date, but who knows?

I don't think they're gonna be releasing another album for a year or so yet, so they may well give this a try. We have to keep in mind that Artie created this thread, though.

What does it matter again who created it? The source is in the first post.

Since it's not from a new studio album, if this really is released, I don't really expect it to be massive like most of their singles. It could be like another "I Fought The Law" chart run. I'm predicting it to stay below the Top 15, but radio could also treat it as a brand new single, so who knows. I have no idea what this sounds like either, so I can't really make official predictions yet I guess.

Considering their last 4 singles haven't gone top 10 on Alternative, they'd be lucky to find a hit. I think they've been away long enough to get some attention.

Last 4? "East Jesus Nowhere" & "Last of the American Girls" didn't, no, but before that it was "21 Guns"... They didn't release "The Simpsons Theme", Artie.

For those that didn't know, this was actually supposed to be the name of the CD "American Idiot", but since the copy of the cd was stolen from the studio, they had to start from scratch again. You can find a live demo of it somewhere online, but it's interested they decided to re-record it.

Did they re-record it? I assumed this would be a live song.
Haha, never thought of The Simpsons theme song. They actually did put that out as single, and it bubbled under the Hot 100 at #6. But I don't see it charting anywhere on Alternative. I was counting When It's Time (peak 66) and 21st Century Breakdown (57).

"When It's Time" was only officially released in the UK.
As for this song, yes, it is live. The album itself is a live album, not a "compilation". You wouldn't normally use that term to describe a live album.

+17 with 9 adds since Friday. Better late than never? Or is this DOA like their last few?

Maybe it wasn't intended as a single and radio stations are just playing it because it's new Green Day.

Maybe their bad streak isn't official just yet. This picked up 29 spins across 11 stations over the weekend.

^Probably from a syndicated show like Out of Order.
