Forgive if already started, especially since this was tabbed as the first rock single months ago. It heads out January 24 from Billboard.biz. But like we discussed earlier, these guys appear all but finished, especially on Modern / Rock stations.

They may not do much at rock, but they're far from being done at HAC.
I hope that this does well.

If this was any other artist, I could see this doing VERY well on both Alternative & Active, but both formats ignore Daughtry because of the whole American Idol thing. I have no idea why, but whatever.

Well given how "It's Not Over" and "What I Want" did at active rock, I have a feeling that if the label actually pushes this to rock radio, it will chart. Remember, RCA hasn't pushed anything to rock radio since "Crashed" and that was a top 30 active rock hit and it was their third rock single from that album. "You Don't Belong" would be their first rock single from this era, so I think it'd go top 20 on active if the label wants it to. What, would they send this song to pop?

What, would they send this song to pop? Nah, I can't see that happening. God forbid, they could hear an actual hard rock song of a typically Pop artist on their format.

These guys appear all but finished. Yeah, Daughtry's days are numbered. I'd love if this were actually being released, not holding my breath though.

KRXQ added this back in November and has been spinning this regularly. Not sure if it's indicative of anything though.

^Well KRXQ doesn't tend to follow other active rock stations in their playlists. Usually it's in the other direction in that they're reluctant to add songs even if they're in the top 20. They're kinda a less bad version of that station AI and metal fan talk about and that other station Phobia talks about. They probably added this because Daughtry is a big name, and they're less willing to take risks on moderate hits by lesser known bands than on non-singles by huge bands.

Well Crashed and Over You did their things at the same time on separate formats, but the last 2 were pop

Well the only rock single that's been ignored since then was his cover of "Feels Like The First Time." "No Surprise" was a pop-only single, and given FLTFT was a bonus track cover, I don't think we can really say that rock radio is ignoring him yet. It's more like he's ignored rock radio.

They NEED to release this to Pop! Forget the ballads and sappy songs, this could be huge.

"Home" was concurrent with "What I want" and before "Crashed." So it was "Over You", "Feels Like Tonight", and "What About Now" that were in a row.

While that's true, I'm sure that the people who like Daughtry in this part of the forum aren't really concerned with how well this song does at pop. Anyone who wants him to have a future at rock radio knows the window is closing rapidly there, whereas he could release nearly any song on the album and it would chart decently on pop.

Yeah, Daughtry's days are numbered. They don't have to be. It's up to RCA. I know, but I was mostly joking. Artie said they were done, ESPECIALLY on rock radio. But the truth is, that could be the only place where they won't have a future if they don't release something this era. But overall, this band isn't fading out any time soon, they're huge. I know if this does get released and does decently then "Ghost of Me" is the obvious followup. But I'd love for them to pull a Red and release "What We Have Become" or "Long Way."

What is the actual title? I bought it off iTunes as "What Have We Become," but the lyric is clearly "What We Have Become." I know iTunes has made mistakes before, so I'm not sure.

No wonder I didn't find this thread. I searched by organizing threads by artist...didn't cross my mind that maybe it was a Ziff thread.

Or you can just do what I do. On each page in the relevant time frame, do a Ctrl+F search until you find what you're looking for.

The search feature is useful if you know how not to break it.
