Frida Kahlo has nothin' on Sade! Probably the most photogenic female singer of her generation!

I can't get into this. Solider... finally grew on me, so I'm hoping this album does too. As it stands, I prefer old Sade to contemporary Sade. Stephen, bew. You didn't even know who Sade was. Sade has never been contemporary per se. I thought I didn't know who she was. However, I did know. Smooth Operator and Your Love Is King >>>>>> Everything else she's released.

Fans better enjoy it b/c this may likely be Sade's final album and this one almost wasn't to be from what I'm told. She's the Greta Garbo of music. Wait? She is a closet lesbian? ??? Is there in-fighting in the band? Sade's heart is broken beyond repair and this was the last she could squeeze from it. Tell us! Your Love Is King and Smooth Operator are great but also overrated, as they are responsible for a lot of misconceived notions people have about the band as being jazz-lite/elevator muzak. Sweetest Taboo, Hang On, Never As Good and SOLIDER of Love PWN those two you mentioned.

Dunno bout the lesbian part, but she basically did this just for her band and had to be almost dragged to the studio when she was able to be found.

She sounds extremely committed and focused to me though. She is even doing interviews. Hopefully, she keeps making music even if it takes another 10 years.

The album is AMAZING! I didn't like it at first, but I listened at night with my headphones and Soldier Of Love, Babyfather, Safest Place and some more blew my mind! :o

In addition to TV commercials...there are radio commercials as well promoting Sade's new album.

I need to listen to this more, but after 3 plays I'm loving it a lot. "Babyfather" is one of my favourites. I hope it's the next single.

Will be exciting seeing the numbers roll in. I listened to the snippets on iTunes- sounds good. She is the undisputed queen of the Quiet Storm- or should it be *it* is the Queen, as it's a band. ;)

I'm still on the fence about buying this. I know as soon as I pay $10.99 Amazon will reduce it to $7.99 or heaven forbid $5.99. This HAS to go on sale!

A hiatus seems to prove that your fans are still around. Maxwell, Whitney and now Sade all bringing in great numbers. 501K is just mind-blowing. Mariah needs to take notes and just get her stuff together and just comeback swinging in about 3 years.

Show them how it's done, Sade. Quality wins every time. I was playing Babyfather the other day and I kept hearing, "Your daddy knows...you're a fling". Actually, that's what I heard the first time I played the song too before I read the lyrics.

network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/theampersand/archive/2010/02/16/sade-on-kanye-west-amy-winehouse-raekwon-and-the-music-industry.aspxSade on Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Raekwon and the music industryPosted: February 16, 2010 by Brad Frenette The reclusive Sade rarely does interviews, so when The Ampersand had a chance to talk to the top selling female artist in Britain, we had to ask her about another well-selling British soul singer, as well as to speak about the internet rumours about possible collaborations with Drake and Kanye, and a few other things left out of today's piece: On personal lyrics vs private life: Once you let the songs go, they aren't your songs anymore. What I hope we do is we let people read their lives into our songs. I hope that is what happens, and I feel that that's what it is. We all have familiar feelings as humans. I do approach that with a degree of trepidation before I write a song - do I really want people to know how I feel anyway. So I really want people to know what I see, what my life's been, who I am. Once I start writing a song, I have to let go and just sing from my heart and not be judgemental. On how the industry has changed: If I auditioned for X Factor, I probably wouldn't get through the first process. They'd say - 'oh God, not her'. I think [the industry] is tough, but the beauty of the internet is that people who are a bit weird and disconnected can use it as a tool to expose what they do - that's the beauty of what's happened with the internet for music. On the collaboration rumours with Kanye West and Drake: I don't think they have contacted me. I've never collaborated because I've always avoided working outside my safety zone -- I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn't want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn't deliver. On other acts catching her ear: I loved Amy Winehouse's Back to Black album. I think she's a great lyricist. I like the Raekwon album, it's tough and hard. I love the beats, and I think he's a poet. I like a lot of hip hop. I like Alicia [Keys] and the other Alecia, Pink - she's a real soldier. I like people whodo their own thing, who are brave enough to do their thing. On performing on late night shows: I find myself wondering what I'm doing there. It's a bit clinical. You have to live in those few seconds. Being on stage, it has the ebb and flow, it's real ,a dn you are giving something back to the ppeople who've been there and gone through the whole thing with you. It's a great opportunity to express youself. I feel that when we're on stage, we're in it together -- me and the band and the audience, we're all in it. They want me to be good. We all do, and somehow it happens because of that. On the next record: I haven't even really sat and listened to this one as a whole, as a body of work since we did it. I won't know what our next album is going to be until we do it.

She has a beautiful soul. In all of her interviews, she always says things that are incredibly wise and inspiring.

This album is on rotation a lot for me. It's very organic and I love that which is why I admire and love her.
