Kelly Clarkson - 5th Album Era
Part Two
Release Date: Early 2011
Part One
It's that time again everyone! With the completion of the All I Ever Wanted World Tour and the final single reaching the end of its run, it's time to prepare for Kelly Clarkson's 5th studio album! The album has been most recently described by Kelly as an ode to the late 80s/early 90s, adding that it's a fun album. Surprisingly, Kelly admitted that she and RCA have been getting along very well so far with this album and that she was working with several new people. (Link).
The album is currently scheduled for an early 2011 release, with the possibility of the first single being released later this year. Kelly confirmed this herself on Twitter. Recording is still in progress.
Earlier this year, an Internet hacker stole most, if not all the songs (in demo form) that Kelly had recorded for the album up until April. They were put up for sale by select individuals and the tracks spread from there. It is unknown if Kelly intends to use any of these songs.

Kelly has been in and out of recording studios for months while on tour, recording demos and writing songs with her band members. Official recording began June 22 in Nashville, TN. Kelly has also done studio sessions in Los Angeles, CA.
Additional songtitles include "3 Words" (written by Kelly and her drummer, Miles McPherson), "Break The Silence" (written by Kelly and her DJ, Ric), "You're The Only One For Me", "Good Enough" (written by Kelly and Jason Halbert), and "You Love Me". During a tweeting spree, Kelly confirmed a song titled "The Sun Will Rise" will be on the record, adding that it has a similar theme and message as Breakaway (the song). During a pre-show of the US leg of the All I Ever Wanted Tour, Kelly expressed wishes to include the song, "I Wish I Could Be Lonely" on the next album as well.
Kelly has reunited with producer Howard Benson, who produced a bulk of All I Ever Wanted. He's visible in the studio during Kelly's fan club vlog which documented the recording of a duet for the album. Kelly also confirmed his involvement via Twitter.
Producer and songwriter Toby Gad has been confirmed to be involved with the project. He tweeted a picture of them together, adding that he was very much impressed by her voice.

Other known collaborators are Kelly's band members. Rumored to have penned a song is Ben Moody (Source).
The album will feature a duet with a major recording artist, as revealed in a vlog Kelly posted on her fan club site. It seems likely that the partner is Chris Daughtry - the following tweet was made by a drummer that works for Howard Benson. It was later deleted.

People working on material to pitch to Kelly:
Ryan Tedder announced that he is working on new material for Kelly, however Kelly confirmed that she will not be working with him.
- "I'm working on stuff for her next album and am personally over any of the drama between the two of us," Tedder said. "It's silly. 'Already Gone' is now a bigger hit than 'Halo' was, so I think she's probably happy, too."
www.denverpost.com/entertainmentlastold/ci_15129075 - Q: Who else have you worked with recently? And who's coming up?
A: I've recently worked with Adele, Tiesto, Natasha Bedingfield, James Morrison, Keri Hilson and T.I. I also have singles coming out this summer with a bunch of new artists. Coming up, I'll be working with Kelly Clarkson, Brit (Spears), Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum and some others.

Claude Kelly announced that he will be writing for Kelly.
- Kelly Clarkson's Next Album Will 'Take It Up A Level,' Songwriter Says
'My Life Would Suck Without You' songwriter Claude Kelly is looking forward to working with Clarkson on her new album.
By Jocelyn Vena
Kelly Clarkson's life might suck without Claude Kelly. So it's a good thing that the pop star and her "My Life Would Suck Without You" songwriter will soon be hooking up in the studio to work on tracks for her new album, a follow-up to 2009's All I Ever Wanted.
However Clarkson — who performed on the "American Idol" finale Wednesday night — is feeling these days, Claude Kelly is ready to use it as inspiration for the duo's next collaboration. "I'm ... really, really excited to go back in for Kelly Clarkson," Kelly told MTV News at the premiere for "Sex and the City 2" on Monday. He says that if you loved what they did on All I Ever Wanted, they're not going to settle for anything less this time around.
"Well, I wrote 'My Life Would Suck Without You' for the last album, so we're trying to take it up a level," Kelly, who recently worked with Christina Aguilera for her Bionic album, said. "She's toured the world with that album. She's experienced stuff, so whatever she's going through right now: fun, good, the bad, the ugly — we want to put on that record."
Some of Clarkson's newer songs have already leaked to the Internet. But Kelly isn't letting that influence what he does with the singer. "I haven't heard the songs, but I heard there's been leaks," he said. "Kelly Clarkson is kind of a force of her own. Her voice and her mood determine what she does. So I just want to do what's on her heart 'cause that's how you get the best songs out of an artist like that, is for them to sing what they really mean."
www.mtv.com/news/articles/1640189/20100527/clarkson_kelly.jhtml - Whose next album would you be very keen to cuts for?
Claude Kelly: Right now I’m in the process of pursuing Kelly Clarkson again, because I had a blast the last time, and also Britney again.
www.hitquarters.com/index.php3?page=intrview/opar/intrview_Claude_Kelly_Interview.html - Is there any particular artist you're looking to write for?
CK: There's a million and one. I'm in the process of writing a song for Jennifer Hudson. I've just finished Fantasia -- her single is called 'Bittersweet.' I'm looking to work with Kelly Clarkson and Britney Spears soon. I'm sure to keep them guessing.

Some excerpts from published articles on the new album's direction and release:
Kelly Clarkson’s Next Album Will Sound Like Garbage And Muse (Or Not)
idolator.com/5328441/kelly-clarksons-next-album-will-or-will-not-sound-like-garbage-and-muse
In addition to belting out some of her hits for the Q100 clockwatchers recently, Clarkson also let slip some info about her next album, which she’s already cracking away at.
“We’re already working on it but it’s probably not going to hit until, like, the fourth quarter of next year—around Christmas next year,” she told the station. “There’s still some, like, singer/songwriter stuff [on the album], but there’s… I don’t know. It’s almost like Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse. It’s a little different.”
Oooh, Garbage—our lives really have sucked without them. Considering that the website for the long dormant four-piece band has only been updated three times since 2007, it’d be swell to hear sultry Shirley Manson-type snarling atop some sexy beats once again.
“I don’t know how it’s going to end up. Who knows?” Kelly warns, however. “It always ends up being something completely different.”
Hmmm. “Completely different” from Muse and Garbage has us thinking Ryan Tedder, who told Idolator last week, “[Kelly's] attorney or somebody from her camp told somebody from my camp that she’s willing to work with me again… if we work together in the future, then I will be a happy camper about it and let bygones be bygones.”
Kelly Clarkson Says Next Album Will Be 'Really Different'
'American Idol' alum is looking to release new LP next fall.
www.mtv.com/news/a...103/clarkson_kelly.jhtml
Kelly Clarkson's post-"American Idol" career has been full of surprises, and judging from a recent interview with Chicago radio station Kiss FM 103.5, her next album may contain even more - like a departure from her signature rock/pop sound.
"Yeah, we're already working on it," she told DJ Ty Bentli. "We tour throughout 2010 overseas and then we actually are probably going to have released the record in the fall of 2010," Clarkson said of next year's agenda.
Aside from writing some of her own songs, the singer is currently penning tracks for other artists, noting that she sometimes keeps the tracks for herself if she really likes them.
"What's really weird is right now I've got a really cool [music] publisher I work with that has hooked me up with a lot of different writers that do a lot of tracks and stuff," she said. "So we've been writing for other artists but then I end up liking it so much that I can't give them away, but they're really different. The next record is probably going to be really different."
Clarkson did not specify which artists she's been writing for. And while the "American Idol" alum is heavily involved in the creative process, she did confess that her hectic schedule can sometimes interfere with how much she actually gets to write on a record.
"If I end up liking stuff that I've done I'll include it, but if I like other stuff better then I'll just have more of that. Sometimes you're just more inspired, I guess, and especially if you have records that come out real close together, it might be more other people's songs because there's not enough time to write and sing and perform and do everything," she said.
KELLY CLARKSON LOVES JUST SINGING IN THE RAIN
www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/119342/Kelly-Clarkson-loves-just-singing-in-the-rain-/
Although her feet have hardly touched the ground these past 12 months she has still found time to make new music.
“I’m writing and recording new songs,” she said. “I’ve written a ton with a bunch of songwriters I haven’t written with before. “It’s turning out differently, like nothing I’ve released before. Some of it is very 80s influenced and some of it is singer/songwriter.”
But one thing she doesn’t want is a big name producer. She admitted: “I don’t like working with people who have worked with everyone. “Sometimes I get blackmailed into doing so by my label, but I prefer collaboring with people who aren’t on the grid. I don’t want to sound exactly like other people’s records.”
