This was just sent out to radio today, and it goes for adds on June 8. It's listed as being on the That's Why album, but obviously it's not so I'm guessing the album will be re-released with "Bonfire." The song reminds me of "Redneck Yacht Club," but I doubt it will be successful as that one. You can hear the song on Craig's myspace.

Damn . I'm sick of artists doing this to there fans. This particular one doesnt affect me since That's Why is the only Craig Morgan record I havent bought. But looking at the "new" track list they are cutting out Every Redlight which was the only song on the entire original disc I cared for. Adding songs after all your big fans have already bought your record is just BAD buisness.

I'm sure this was done to revive sales of the pathetically selling "That's Why", but I don't like this move either. First off, the song is nothing special to begin with, although I do think it will make for a decent single (should make top 20). They could've released "Sticks", which is practically the same song and already on the album. I know the album wasn't loaded with single choices, but shouldn't the label have known that when they released it? What makes even less sense is removing an original song from the re-release. At least give people their money's worth and throw a couple more new songs on there. The worst thing is that this will likely be the final song from That's Why, and then they'll put a whole new album out.

This is too noisy, isn't it? Also, it reminds me to some other song I just can't remember.

Oh, so he's going the Jason Aldean route, huh? This one's amped-up production and melody sound almost ridiculously like "She's Country". Not that bad, though; the second verse was kinda cute. Any idea who wrote this?

Yeah, too much production for me. I'm not sure how this will do on the charts though...I'm always wrong with his songs.
I thought "Tough" would be a huge hit, but I don't think that ever made it into the top ten. What happened there anyway?
I've given up trying to predict how Craig's songs will do on the charts...

Not too bad a song, but I have to echo what Lumpster said. Especially since it appears that they removed two previous songs and added two new ones...and it's still 12.98?? Give me a break.

As much as I love Craig and Little Big Town - I think theirs moves to the new "better" labels really is backfiring on their careers. Anyhow I will continue to support both. I was shocked to this charted so soon after release.

Another shouty, over-produced mess by Craig Morgan. He seriously needs to hire someone with better taste or something. His last few releases have been awful.

Judging by everyone's posts, it certainly won't hit #1 on the pulse countdown! "Bonfire" is just another example of how radio eats up these type of loud and overproduced songs...

I didn't expect this to pass Love & Theft this week. If Reba can't catch him next week, this should be in the top 10. Hopefully that's all the label's after, and it disappears quickly (not likely though).

Hopefully that's all the label's after, and it disappears quickly (not likely though). Not likely, since this one has returned to #1 on the callout list that Billboard puts in their weekly update. So they should be able to push it to the top 5 at least. I can't stand the song myself, but callout data matters to country radio, so I wouldn't expect it to leave anytime soon. Reba hardly gained on Craig at all this past week, so it will take some work for her to get past this one. She'll have to wait for two out of Toby, Chris, and Keith to go recurrent.

I'm really shocked at this song's success. I like it enough, but it really isn't that good of a song. What happened to the Craig Morgan who sang quality songs such as "Almost Home", "Every Friday Afternoon", "Look At Us", and "I Got You"?!
Can we say: sellout?

Personally I thought "Tough" had the potential to be a huge song...and that didn't even make the top 10 (i don't think?). Seriously, how do they determine the callout data? I don't understand how in the world it could be #1 on callout, when (pretty much) none of us here on the board really like the song at all.

I tend to believe that most of us in this forum are so critical of country radio. I know I am. I can't really figure out exactly why.
I think we all think differently than the "average listener", where the callout data gets the opinions from.

Actually for me personally, there are not too many songs in the top 40 that I really dislike or criticize. I'm probably more of the minority here though, and it's true that the average pulse board member tends to be different than the average radio listener.....but there are songs that in general most of us here tend to really like ("Why" for example) and there are songs that in general that we tend to not care for. (like this) I was just wondering how they go about collecting the callout data, if anybody knows exactly.

Fans who listen to country radio tend to like stuff like this, particularly when so many of the fans live in the rural areas where they might have experienced what happens in this song. Craig Morgan hasn't sold out per se, he's just giving radio what it wants. Hopefully they'll latch onto something like "Ordinary Angels" or "Looking Back With You" but I suspect we'll be hearing "That's Why" and "This Ain't Nothing" instead, particularly the latter one because it was tacked onto the record with "Backwoods." while they're good songs, I like the other two a bit more.

I don't think this'll be around too much longer. Considering only true rednecks have bonfires in the middle of snow storms.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. WHY is Craig singing so loud lately? He didn't used to shout, but starting with the last album, he's been oversinging worse than Gary LeVox (well, okay, the money note on "Love Remembers" is actually pretty cool). In a couple years, he's probably going for a gruff heavy-metal scream (which would actually fit this song's amped up production).

Why does this man not sell records? There are those few, like him and Jack Ingram, that always have songs on the charts, but can't sell a record to save their lives. Don't get it.

What's the total at 9,000? I can't believe two top 10 hits and he can't even sell at least 50,000...what was the opening week tally?

I can only give you a personal response, not an analytical one. Even though I've liked a number of his songs, I can not imagine sitting down to listen to Craig sing 3 songs in a row, let alone 10 or 12. That voice -- it's terrifying. When I hear him on the radio, at least with songs less awfully-sung than Bonfire, I know I won't hear another one for hours or even days. That's reassuring. Deliberately exposing myself to that voice for an hour at a time? Never. If I owned an album, I would never play it.

I'm just imagining him trying to sing in some sort of gruff, heavy-metal scream. You know he's gonna do it eventually.
