Thanks to BrainDamageII at UKMix. Whoever wanted to see Britney Spearts' track chart here, there it is. I suppose Billboard is now charting Mimi's "Extra Festive" separately.

There's no reason why sales should be split. A MESS. Oh and that Messiah reign just won't let up! :'(

The answer is: Billboard views it as a re-recording, after all- probably most importantly, the label would like to know how much its title specifically is selling.

^I also inquired about that- BB believes Digital Songs showcases the holiday sales gains well enough (the chart does appear in the publication- unlike Comprehensive Albums). It wants the Hot 100 to show the most active current/new songs.

Nine of the "Glee" tracks have charted this week, so, yeah, they probably will rise pretty well after the airing.

Will AIWFCIY be knocked down out of the top spot next week? I'd think it will sell more than Killers' "Boots" (thanks to the other version from Holiday Hits that's selling). Coldplay's "Christmas Lights" could threaten, but it only was released yesterday.

Wow this song just keeps dropping and dropping every week. It started off the season in the top 3. My guess is that it's a year-round seller, the sales of which don't increase significantly with the holiday season.

Will "Christmas Lights" be able to hold on for a second week, or will "All I Want..." return for more? The latter does have a second version on the Holiday Hits album that's selling, so that could aid the cause.
Not 100% sure, but this may be the first top 40 Christmas hit on the Hot 100 since Christina Aguilera's "The Christmas Song" cover in late 1999.
