This is my least favorite Julieta song ever. But even at her worst, she still manages to make me smile. That link doesn't work for me. I'll check out the video later. I hope its better than the "Eres Para Mi" video.

Really? I can think of a couple from Si that are a lot worse.
When I first listened to this song, I did NOT like it at all. But now, with repeated listenings, it has become one of my Top 5 from Limon y Sal. I love the "rap" part. How did Julieta come to collaborate with these South American rappers? It seemed totally random when I first bought this album.

I finally saw the video. It's kinda boring. Definately the worst out of the Limon y Sal videos. The animation parts of the video look cheap.

She knows her s**t.
Or in other words, she has unique taste. And I'm sure touring and stuff led her to discover this style of hip-hop. I remember the MTV LA performance of "Lento" she did with some hip-hop group I had never ever heard of.

When I first heard it on the album, i was like "what is this? with rap or reggaeton?! wtf?!" Then I started liking it more and more. Really cool song to me. The whole album is great!

Nevermind, my least favorite Julieta song is this:

A holiday song. One of the dumbest things she has ever recorded. I can't believe she made a music video for it.

Anybody know if this has taken off. In my part of the US, I have yet to hear on radio/tv. I would have predicted radio would get a hold of this pretty quick since it's a perfect summer song.

Thats because this song is a Europe single only. It will never be released here or in Mexico and with "Morena Mia" coming out, there's not a chance.

But Spain currently has both "Morenamia" AND "Primer Dia" as singles... so it's not out of the question that this could be a 4th single in Latin America.

Yeah, I'm with you. I think this will eventually reach the States. I mean it does not make any sense for her label to shoot and video and then just release it in Europe. I mean, it's not like she's a huge seller over there...

I have to admit that I've only listened to the song a total of like 4 times in full, and I've had the album for a year. I think I'll have to let it grow on me.

It did on me! The first time I heard it I was like, "What the fu**?" But now I really dig it. In fact, the entire LIMON Y SAL album is becoming one of my favorites the more I listen to it. It may surpass SI as my favorite Julieta album...

You obviously haven't listened to Bueninvento or Aqui. They're not fun records so you probably won't like them.

I like dark, depressing music too. Fiona Apple & Rufus Wainwright are two of my favorite artists of all time. And man their music can sometimes want to make you slit your wrists.
Back to Julieta. I've heard songs from both BUEINVENTO & AQUI but neither in their entirerity. I guess the reason why I like SI so much is not b/c it's necessarily groundbreaking, but b/c of the time I associate it with. Sometimes an album becomes synonymous with the time you heard it for the first time.

Yeah, thats true. I can't say I heard her first two albums at the times they came out. I actually got into Julieta late in 2004 after hearing her song "Lo Que Venga Despues" on Maria Full of Grace. Then I just decided to check out her music from when her career started.
I heard that she might re-release those two albums in the future.

Really, I did not know she was on the soundtrack. Is her music actually used during the movies or does she just appear on the album? I hate soundtracks in which the songs never appear during the film. WTF? What's the point of putting out a soundtrack to the movie? THE LAST KISS comes to mind.
My favorite sountrack is GARDEN STATE. Each of the tracks on the album actually appear in the movie.

The song is played at the very end of the movie up to the credits. There isn't even a soundtrack to that movie so a CD quality mp3 of that song doesn't even exist. Just the DVD rip.
Garden State is one of my favorite movies, and yes, the soundtrack is part of the reason why I like it.
