I'm on a quest to find the absolute worst #1 ever for the Hot 100!!!
So, out of the #1 hits from 1958, which is your least favorite?

You definitely need to win some sort of award at the PMAs if you can get the whole way through this project!
I don't listen to a lot of music from this time period, but when I do I enjoy it.
"The Chipmunk Song" is the obvious choice here.

Reluctant vote for The Chipmunks, and even that one has managed to endure. Overall, a very good round up of songs for the Hot 100's first year.

Most people are picking "The Chipmunk Song," and yet that was the song that started the phenomenon that very much still exists today known as Alvin & the Chipmunks.
Go figure.
I guess I would have to pick "Little Star" by the Elegants. As just a basic reworking of the famous nursery rhyme, I've always found it kind of uninspired and boring.
And they are (according to Fred Bronson) rock and roll's first official one hit wonders.

the Chipmunks song is classic, heard a million times more than those others. It shouldn't even be in contention.
I've never even heard of this:
Domenico Modugno - Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)
so i choose that.
