Here is Daughtry's new single, 'Renegade', written by Chris Daughtry and his bassist, Josh Paul. I am not sure if it will be released to rock only or other formats. Listen here: www.daughtryofficial.com/us/news/new-daughtryPlease vote and publicly state your answers if you don't mind !

B to B+ for me. I love the vocals, lyrics, but not so much the production. It probably will grow on me more.

C. I'm not really feeling it. I don't like their 'harder' stuff.

D for me. IT's completely different from all their other pop singles. I didn't care for it, personally.

I'd give it a solid B. Kinda don't like the distorted vocals near the beginning of the first verse that much, but I think I'll like this. Not sure if this is actually going to pop, though. It might end up being a rock-only single, which this would be a perfect fit for that format.

B-/C+. A little too chaotic for me.

B/B+. It sounds a bit messy at first--and the bridge is just loud, not interesting--but I think this will grow on me. It's pretty intense--I think it will be a good workout song. It doesn't sound like they're trying to get back to Pop's good graces with this, but...who cares.
Like the distorted vocals, actually. I sorta wish that sound was more present.

B. I'm glad they're choosing a heavier rock sound rather than the pop-rock route.

C- I'm starting to give up on them. I hated their last album and this does nothing for me.

I know I'm biased, but I'm so blown away with Chris's songwriting.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted from them, I love it. I gave it a B, but it will probably be an A with more listens.

I actually really like this :O! The distorted vocals at the beginning work, the production is nice and I really like that it's more rock than pop. If I had to compare this to another band's sound, it would probably be Three Days Grace (which happens to be one of my favourite alternative bands). Anyways, this gets a B+ from me.

It gets a solid C from me. While I still much prefer the sound from their debut album, at least this is better than "No Surprise". Hopefully they have more pop-friendly singles though.
Oh, and I'm definitely picking up Bon Jovi vibes.

No Surprise is awesome. One of their best.
this song, I'll give it a solid B. Hopefully they have a kickass CHR-sounding song, to boost sales.

A. The chorus is epic for me. And I love the production.
But on the other hand, this sounds too hard rock for the pop format.

B-/C
I think it's a pretty generic rock song but I think it will make his fans happy and probably help him sell a lot of records to the people that like this kind of rock. If Nickleback can sell 4-6 million an album in the US, I don't know why Daughtry can't pull those numbers, too. I much prefer Chris' vocals to Chad's. But having said that I do think Chad is a lot stronger writer.
