Hope this does something. He also recorded a dance remix with Keri Hilson so I'm wondering if they'll send that out.

I guess this one is just too big at the Urban format and there is spill over.

Yep, but I think this one's too urban to really do much, though. The remix might.

I don't think pop will give him a chance with anything at this point. If Crawl couldn't make a dent, this won't do anything.

I kinda like this now . @ best this should crack the top 40 due to the recurrency rules that are now put in place.

I don't think pop will give him a chance with anything at this point. If Crawl couldn't make a dent, this won't do anything. "Crawl" didn't even make any impression on the Urban or CHR/Rhythmic formats, so that's not a strong comparison. I agree that "Deuces" is probably too Urban-leaning to make a major impression on the Mainstream Top 40, but regardless I think it'll make a moderate impression. I can see this peaking somewhere in the #14-17 range. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Crawl was best fit for CHR than any other format, though, and much more than this. So if a pop-leaning song couldn't make an impact I don't see this one doing it either.

Crawl was a great pop song. I really doubt this will do anything. Pop radio is over him.

With this being so huge at Urban, #1 on the R&B chart and top 10 at Rhythmic, Pop radio not playing it would result in a big radio politics issue.
Today's update: 169 86 CHRIS BROWN Dueces f/Tyga & Kevin McCall 80 12 68 0.403 The bullet looks promising. :)

If 'Calypso' doesn't stop this from charting, this should go at least Top 20. Its down tempo and not electro, but it still works well with CHR playlists. I think a lot of listeners are simply taking this as a good CB song, but aren't actually warming up to being a true fan of him again. The reaction across the board is mostly like 'oh wow, that's Chris Brown? I'm surprised, that's pretty good' but nothing more. At this time it seems most listeners would still lean towards Usher or Trey Songz when hearing male R&B on their CHR station.

I actually agree w/ Minor. Semi-hit here or not, it's still too early to tell if Chris will get his spot back.

We haven't even heard "Calypso" and from the sound of the name, it sounds like a pop song. However, the way he described it makes it sound like a straight RnB jam. And "Crawl" is one of my least favorite singles of his.

Te Amo, Deuces and Letting Go (Dutty Love) all sound exactly the same.

^not really exactly, for me 'Deuces' has more Indian beats than The Latin 'Te Amo'.
Anyway, wooooooooo at Pop!

Totally agree. The beat is just slowed down a bit.
