I think it was smart of whoever is managing her to skip the wholesome image path that child music stars naturally take at a young age. Its the transition to maturity and change that are troubling these stars now (Miley Cyrus and the other young TV/music stars), and when they are so controlled at a young age to stay wholesome, they are mentally challenged by their management because the star wants to make a change to their image. And for business purposes or typecasts or whatever, they simply can't do what they want and it becomes problematic for their career path.
With Willow taking this path with 'Whip My Hair', she has bypassed anything that Disney or Nick or Glee would make her do and she has more freedom to be herself in the future just because her debut was 'Whip My Hair' and not 'Hannah Montana' or 'ABC123'. This goes for her future acting roles as well.

I think for the most part that Jada is managing Willow's music career

People make movies with a story that require roles for children. There are tons of child actors. How many other children are there that are getting adds by the #2 chr/pop market in the country for a song about whippin' hair? Is she actually a protege with talent that should be taken seriously as a future star-in-the-making (with this song...no), or is she just the daughter of Jay-Z's two famous friends that he can make some money off of who also sucks at multiplication (gee, I wonder why)? It's still the same though. Both her and her brother's first roles were playing their daddy's kids in their daddy's movies. Do you think they got the parts by doing auditions? And Jay Z said he signed her after he already heard her album, so if her parents already paid for the recordings etc. why won't he sign her? It'll cost him less now to release her album.

At the end of the day she's blessed to have the connections she has, it's certainly not on merit but whatever. Get ready to have this kid crammed down everybody's throat.

I find it funny that people are suddenly shocked now when she started doing movies back in 2007 and has done like 4 movies already according to Wiki. So it's okay for a 7 years old to have a movie career but not okay for a 9 years old to have a music career? She already doesn't and probably never had a normal childhood, so what's the difference now? People make movies with a story that require roles for children. There are tons of child actors. How many other children are there that are getting adds by the #2 chr/pop market in the country for a song about whippin' hair? Is she actually a protege with talent that should be taken seriously as a future star-in-the-making (with this song...no), or is she just the daughter of Jay-Z's two famous friends that he can make some money off of who also sucks at multiplication (gee, I wonder why)? Maybe someone can write a song for her about the trials and tribulations of grade school and send it to a format with a demographic that actually cares. wow. and i thought i could be rude

Can you imagine if every parent had millions of dollars to pour on their kids every little desire?

lol she at 9 years is so much cooler than any of the 12-19 in the bussines right now. Plus she has the best single out of any of them. The way she presents herself, the way she thinks and talks....i'll admit it, i'm quite impressed. Not many 9 year olds are like this, probably none....this girl is be special, she doesn't need the Smith surname.

It's actually not that bad of a song. It also sounds A LOT like a young Raven-Symone! (Who by the way, had a small hit with Missy Elliott at age 7.) I don't see this becoming a big hit, though. I see it doing a little something, but not a lot.

This is my new jam. Also, why should she be punished for her parents having money? Sounds to me like a double standard.
PS: 90% of those who find success, have to buy it.
