Do y'all think that a lead single can still be released this late in the year OR is an early 2011 single release much more probable ? What do you think?

We're looking at a very late 2010- early 2011 single release I think

Since she just recorded another song for the record, my guess is that RCA has sent her back to record more songs (perhaps because they were not satisfield with all of her songs thus far). If that hypothesis is correct, then I feel the album release date is up in the air. For this reason, I feel the debut single will be released in early 2011.

^ Me too. This is turning out to be All I Ever Wanted part 2. Hopefully not material-wise, though.

But can we just get a little appreciation for Can We Go Back? Never thought much of it until the other day when it shuffled its way into my ear and clicked. I actually think it's amazing now.

'Tip of My Tongue' is by far and away my favorite bonus track. Probably my third favorite off the album after 'Already Gone' and 'MLWSWY'.

I love all 3 bonus tracks. Every one of them are good enough to be main tracks. It appears that Max Martin and Dr. Luke and maybe Claude Kelly are writing for Kelly. from bixblitz at the kce. Long WeekSo I spent this past week in writing sessions at Downtown Music Studios. There was a writing team in from LA working on tracks for Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna. I’ve done writing sessions before, but never with somebody writing songs for someone else. Admittedly, I don’t have much exposure to the pop world, as I spent most of my life avoiding it at all costs. So it was interesting to see how this process works. This particular writing team has written some huge pop tracks over the past couple of years, including “Hot and Cold,” “Teenage Dream,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and “Party In the USA,” so watching them work was serious business. On the one hand, the punk rocker in me can’t help but feel like some artistic integrity is lost in the process where they brainstorm about what phrases a 19 year old girl would use, but on the other hand I can’t help but be impressed by what they do. The last night that I was working with them, they received a track from LA Reid, who said he needed lyrics and vocal melody written and recorded by the next day, so that they could have a new track to give to Rihanna. The track was very basic, mostly just some drums and bass (sort of in the same style as Drop It Like It’s Hot), so it was hard to really hear much of a song there, let alone something to be played on the radio. At first the writers struggled with coming up with a melody because the track was just so empty. A few hours later (6 AM to be exact) what was once just some drums and bass, now sounded like a potential Rihanna hit. Needless to say, I was impressed (or delerious from lack of sleep). All in all it was a very interesting week. It’s always good to be exposed to something new, especially in this business. And if you’re going to be exposed to something new, what better way than to spend time with the people who are the best in that particular area? And as a testament to that, I still wake up with some of the lines they wrote stuck in my head. mikecomparetto.wordpress.com/2010/10/17/long-week/

I agree, neally. Late 2010 doesn't seem so logical. Maybe some official news will be out by then though. But can we just get a little appreciation for Can We Go Back? Never thought much of it until the other day when it shuffled its way into my ear and clicked. I actually think it's amazing now. I appreciate it a lot. It wasn't until summer of this year that I started to spin it. Fallen in love with that track now. The vocals are amazing too. It is one of the tracks I wish for her to perform on tour some day. WOW. Lead single produced by Dr. Luke & Max Martin, I'm guessing. Let's hope it's something of distinction and won't get lost in the shuffle with the new GaGa, Beyoncé, and Britney music to be released next year.

I kinda wish they would produce something Kelly wrote...You Can't Win seems up their alley, except with more interesting lyrics.

YESSSSSSSS!! BTHE pt.2 plzzzzz :'( :'( :'( For that, it'd have to be a Kelly-penned Luke/Martin-produced song... which doesn't seem to be the case... I guess we're gonna get Suck pt.2... or SUBG pt.76... neither of which would be that bad LOL, but stil...

I'm glad Max Martin and Dr. Luke might be working with her again. Though, I hope Kelly actually co-writes with them this time.

YES! This is great news. Hopefully they get more than one cut on the CD this time around. MLWSWY is still my favorite song from AIEW and is probably my favorite Kelly single yet.

Kelly's voice is on a whole different level than Reba's--soul, range, and especially tone. BOY's bridge in particular: I always pay more attention to KC's vocals, which are supposed to be backing vocals, than Reba's center vocals. On another note - Max Martin/Dr. Luke have given KC unlimited praise. They have said in many interviews that they love working with her and love her voice. If they are just now working with KC, it would appear as if the label is making her work with them. I do not understand why she would be so reluctant to seek them out on her own and prior to submitting any potential albums to the label--they have worked with her on her biggest hits. The label is obviously going to want some of their work in her album--with reason, unquestionably. In fact, they should have been her first stop before submitting any albums--1 or 2 Martin/Dr. Luke songs. Maybe then we would have gotten a Q4 release.

Or, Kelly had to wait for a slot in Max & Luke's schedules. They're very busy.
We don't really know. I do know anything she does with Max Martin is going to be good.

Or they could have been involved already with leaked songs and they're scrapping those. We're pretty in the dark at this point.

Have you even listened to reba's version. I get you dont like her which is fine. But noone can sing this song like reba, reba puts more attitude and grit in it than kelly, it suits reba more since its a country song. Just like how reba's version of BOY doesnt even compare to kelly's. Also if youre gonna keep dissing reba, remember one thing....Reba is her musical influence and inspiration, and if there was no reba there would be no kelly.
