Wow, I didn't realize Jason Aldean's star had risen so much. 175-200K is way more than I would have expected. Good for him. www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news08288m01SWIFT REIGNS, ALDEAN DEBUTS AS COUNTRY RULES Jason Aldean Represents Seventh Country Artist in a Row with Top Sales Debut November 3, 2010 The fourth quarter finally got underway with this week's million-selling, chart-topping debut by Taylor Swift, who will certainly get another week at #1. Based on one-day sales from those music retailers not trying to star whack Randy Quaid and his wife Evi, next week's top debut go to Broken Bow artist Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party, which is certainly not about the Republicans, but should do between 175-200k anyway.

He's on the record as saying that he wants to release "Dirt Road Anthem" as a single. If that's the 2nd single, I think he'll be in trouble with sales and even at radio. It's not that it's a bad song, but it's going to alienate some people and radio stations. There are far better and more radio-friendly tracks on the album...the Kelly duet should be a single, and "If She Could See Me Now", "Tattoos On This Town", "Fly Over States", and a few others could easily have #1 potential on country radio. I know it won't be the second single. Third maybe but NOT the second.

I would be surprised if Jason Aldean can sell about 90% of what Sugarland did. However, Wide Open DID push him to a higher level, so anything is possible.

It's admittedly a bit more than I thought he'd open with, but keep in mind this guy has over a million fans on Facebook............quite telling for a Country act. He has a serious fanbase, and I think there's a very real shot he can eclipse even "Wide Open" this era if he plays his single cards right. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

He may get more than 175-200k. I can see that happening. That is quite impressive as it is considering he doesn't have a single presently in the Top Ten. This may confirm he is just as much a touring artist than he is a singles one. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Wide Open was quite a big seller (I think it opened in the 130k range, but I don't have the info in front of me), but My Kinda Party the single isn't what's selling the album, Aldean's touring success and reputation has officially made him a big star.

He may get more than 175-200k. You are correct. First week's sales are 193,000.

Anyway, I've only listened to this album a couple times through so far, but I have enjoyed it. I do think the better songs are (for the most part) on the first half of the album though.

Loving the track with Clarkson. All around I think his last album is better though.

I've been going through this album more and more lately, and it's seriously amazing. I find it completely flawless and one of my favorite albums in the last couple years. So glad JA is going to be superstar status soon enough.

I'm not sure why I didn't listen to this when it was posted back in November, but the only songs I had heard from this album were the singles and "Dirt Road Anthem". I listened to it all tonight and I'm quite impressed. I agree with those who said that there were easily 5-6 singles on this album. I'll definitely be buying it at some point (and this coming from someone who really wasn't interested in Jason's music a few months ago).

^Same. I only listened to this record last week and it impressed me a lot more than I thought it would. Other than the talking during "Dirt Road Anthem" making me go WTF, it's an enjoyable listen. "Church Pew or Bar Stool" is probably my favorite, although "Tattoos on this Town" and "Fly Over States" would be rock solid single choices as well.

I bought the album as soon as it came out, but I haven't really listened to it that much until recently. There are definitely a bunch of potential singles on this album. "See You When I See You" is probably my favorite at the moment, along with "Fly Over States" and "Just Passing Through". I could definitely see all three of those songs being hits on country radio.

This album is really terrific. It's my first Jason Aldean album I've purchased. I have to say I was never a fan but I did really like the 1st 2 singles from this album and I liked some of his ballads in the past. I decided to give it a shot and I am impressed. There are a lot of potential singles and a really good bang for your buck with 15 quality songs! You don't get that much anymore. My favorites are See you when I see you, Church Pew..., I Ain't ready to quit, and Heartaches that don't stop hurting. I'd be happy with any of those as singles.

This is the first Aldean record that I can listen to all the way through without skipping any of the songs. Most of the previous albums lacked in quality, especially Wide Open. Glad to see he is getting better material, even if he has to borrow a few more of Brantley Gilbert's tunes!
