This was the lead single off Mary's No More Drama album released in 2001. Produced by Dr. Dre, it became her only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and also topped the R&B chart. It is also among her most iconic hits. The Hip-Hop/Soul Queen commands y'all to "grab somebody and get your a$$ on the dancefloor" on this classic.

Classic. @ the video. @ this being the first Hot 100 #1 to use the word 'crunk' in it.

One of the best debut singles of all time. What happened to her?

Never cared much for this, perhaps because the lyrics are just too ridiculous and she mumbles through half the song.

Flat production, annoying melody, crap lyrics, and considering Mary's not that big here it was hugely overplayed. Needless to say, she's had much better.

After all these years I listen to this and still don't get what's the fuss all about. Anyone care to explain to me?

Needless to say, she's had much better. Definitely. Like, 90% of her singles are better than this.

One of the best debut singles of all time. What happened to her? Debut? Her first album came out in 1993. I love this, one of her best. A modern classic.

Despite being her biggest hit, this is not one of her better singles and it's from her worst album. I think they basically threw the No More Drama album together because she went in the studio with Dr. Dre and they knew they had a hit on their hands so they scrambled to record some other songs to get an album out. A lot of the album tracks, including the title track from the album, were actually leftovers from her previous album. Sony did the same thing with Mariah Carey's Rainbow album after she recorded "Heartbreaker". It was supposed to be the lead single from Glitter (then titled All That Glitters), and after they realized the project wasn't going to be coming out any time soon, they had her come up with a bunch of other songs so they could release "Heartbreaker" from a new album and not have to wait on it.

A jam. Gave No More Drama another listen a few months ago, and it was much better than I remembered.

This was such a hit. Total jam. Smashed in the US and top ten worldwide. Was it her only #1 Hot 100 hit though? Really? I was so sure that Be Without You was #1 as well :(
Speaking of the album, did anyone else enjoy the album cut Steal Away. FA and SA have gotta be my 2 fave Mary tracks for sure.

I love the song, I'm a fan of Mary J. Bilge's songs in general. This song will always be overplayed. In Los Angeles The Beat, Power 106, KJLH, Hot 92 Jamz and KIIS FM blew this song up in late 2001. Hell it's still popular, I still hear it on KJLH, KHHT, KIIS FM and KDAY.

I didn't know she had been through so much tragedy in her life. :( MJB is a strong woman, that's what I respect about her. She has really came a long way since 1992 and I know she's proud of all of her accomplishments over course of her 20 year career. As a longtime fan I'm happy to say that I have everyone of her albums to listen to and cherish for a lifetime. LOVE YOU MJB, I've been a fan since I was a kid.

Not really a MJB fan but I liked this one. Much preferred "No More Drama" though.

This song reminds me of a former R&R member. :)
Good song, but I preferred the follow-up "No More Drama" which topped my chart.

Wasn't this song first offered to Mariah? Just did not happen because Mariah and Dr. Dre did not work out with how and where they were going to record this?
Probably would have not become that huge if Mariah recorded it as it was with Blige

No DUMMY. PIGriah was NEVER EVER offered this song. That FLOP couldn't make it a HIT like QUEEN MARY.

Forever a jam. The catchiness that is this song will never get old.
