New Single by Alabama - " Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" Single Release Date: DEC 13 (Big Machine/Scatter) AUDIO: [LISTEN] (Mediabase) Source: Waylon Jennings Website & The Associated Press NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Members of country music icon Alabama recently reunited to record a track for the first disc of a new three-volume tribute to Waylon Jennings. Alabama recorded the Jennings classic "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" and was joined by Jamey Johnson, Kris Kristofferson, Trace Adkins and Randy Houser on "The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings." Jennings' widow, Jessi Colter, and their son, Shooter Jennings, also recorded songs included on the first volume, which will be released Feb. 8. There were 33 songs recorded for the project, and the second and third discs will be released later in 2011. "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" is Alabama's first new recording in a decade. The song will be released to radio next week

So when was the last time that they charted? 2002 with I'm In The Mood-#48 Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way starts at #60.

This puts them over 7,000 points on Joel Whitburn's list. Only the 17th artist to achieve that high total. Alan Jackson had been the newest artist in the 7,000 club.
I do like Alabama's version of the song. Waylon's version was incomparable, and also Clint Black revised the song a bit and did a good job singing Are You Sure Waylon Did It This Way.
I'm glad Alabama's back on the chart. Wish we still had Waylon with us.
