I think she needs to lose a tad of weight around her face. Not much, though. Hopefully the Tokyo release will go well. When will it be released in the UK btw? I really don't want to have to wait till spring next year to see it :( I'm sure it will do really well here too, as musicals have always done well here in the UK Edit: Ooo nvm , the 17th There are rumours that she will be performing on The X-factor too. So if she is, it looks like she will do really well here in the UK!

Ya'll are a mess. She doesn't need to sell anymore since she sold close to 50 mill albums. Someone in here's lying since they know post Thanksgiving drops are for the most part always big, this 1's normal, and less than the regular falls. It already passed expectations, doing better than OK, and will def make it's budget WW. Oh, and - iTunes US: #4 Amazon: #8 Wouldn't her retirement from the pop world be a definite sign that she doesn't need to sell more records? Otherwise, there is no standard anywhere that anyone doesn't need to sell anymore. The case about Thanksgiving drop is that, while normal, it is also far too steep. In addition, movies like this one have, by precedent, reached a certain level of success by word of mouth. This is what the argument is in this regard. There was no cushion for this one. On a final note since everyone else is "lying"--exactly what were the monetary expectations for this movie? Domestically not recouping its budget? How this does in the US will definitely impact the release internationally--thus why this movie wasn't released all over the world like other guaranteed successes in one day.

Its unfortunate for her because she is so tiny she has probably only gained around 10-15 pounds, but still looks much bigger because of it. I won't criticize-she is going through a nasty time in her life and is probably indulging a bit in food. No big deal.

A lot of movies have staggered release dates. Even Narnia 3 is released in Asia first before the US audiences get to see them. It was already planned way before the movie was released in the US that the rest of the world would only get Burlesque in December 2010 and January 2011. Whether it is a smash or flop, Sony never planned to roll out the movie at the same time worldwide. For a movie with a limited audience, this is doing okay. I wouldn't say it is a smash hit, but it is no flop or underperformer either. It is performing up to Sony's expectations and it has already grossed more than what some box-office analysts have predicted.

Her arms and legs aren't really that big--she must just have the composition that gains weight in her face with any extra pound, which is just unfortunate biology. And LPL is right, she's really small so five pounds makes a big difference.
Can't wait to buy Castle Walls tomorrow!

I don't think her outfit is that bad-just that she is dressing like she is still super skinny when she isn't. I feel like a lot of women (not even just celebs) do that and I don't get why. That dress needs to be a bit longer and have a different waist and then it would have looked fine.
She also looks better in motion-in the pictures, I literally cringed at her makeup. Someone posted a video on ONTD though and she looks fine-even pretty with it. Its weird how that happens.

my first thought was holy tits, tbh. Otherwise, not that big. All future weight comments: prepare to be informed that you are a hater. Seriously though, that makeup.

Per box office prophet this should do around 37M US. Not really all that bad for a musical with a limited audience.

Lots of movies have performed worse- but for a movie released in 3,000+ theaters and with loads of promotion, it's a disappointing number. if it were so-bad-it's-good like Showgirls was, then maybe it could develop a cult following-0 but from what I hear, it's not THAT bad.

I wish she would tone down the make-up and she's in desperate need of some low lights in that hair.
Weight wise I think she looks good. I think Xtina is such a pretty girl but she looks so whore-ish because of the make-up and hair.

On Monday, 'Burlesque' remained in 3rd position at the Box Office in the United States, bringing the total in the US so far to $27,508,755, increasing by $522,099 US dollars by the end of the week. Mondays are usually lower in revenue - for example, Harry Potter, the NO.1 movie at the Box Office, only raised $1,110 million, while Tangled mad barely above $1 million. She doesn't look any bigger than Kristen Bell in those pics from the premiere.
