Miley's First single is finally hear! It is going to be released on radio on June 11th! Its called We Can't Stop www.allaccess.com/top40-mainstream/future-releases Miley Cyrus Ready to Make 'A Statement' After Two YearsPop star talks planned Motown-influenced album Miley Cyrus was on hand in Las Vegas over the weekend for iHeart Radio, as a presenter. Maybe next year she'll be back as a performer: after a two-year break from music, the singer is ready for a return.
"I'm thinking hopefully November for a single," she tells Rolling Stone. "It's just whenever we feel we've got that [song] we feel really confident in being the first single. I've got songs right now I feel like could potentially be singles, [but] it's been two years that I haven't said anything, and I want that to be the right thing we say."She's getting some help in finding that statement from producers and writers. "I worked with Pharrell on a bunch of things, and Pop & Oak, and I've just been writing, mostly, focusing on what I want to say, rather than turning it into a label later and not knowing what my sound is going to be."
Much of the music was influenced by the time she spent in New Orleans with fiancé Liam Hemsworth. "My boyfriend was filming a movie in New Orleans, so I got into the older Motown Sound vibe, which is really fun to mix with this country pop sound. I listened to a lot of Irma Thomas and tried to get that old soul into it, too," she says. "When you're making a record you never think of what weird direction you're going to go, but that was something that popped up in a few of the sessions we've been working on, and it's been really fun."While Cyrus is conscious of focusing the first single, she's more concerned with the overall album. "Now, being a little more independent, it's not like, 'What's going to be the single? Make sure you write the single first,'" she says. "I now am thinking about the full record rather than just that one hit. It's really about the overall quality of the record."Earlier this year she experimented with dubstep, teaming with Borgore on his "Decisions." The night before she made her way to Vegas, they filmed a video for the track. " That s**t was crazy," Cyrus says. "He walked into his hotel room, and it was people in the weirdest clothes you've ever seen. My fiancé was dressed as a unicorn – we make out in the video, which is very funny. It's just the most random group. We walk in and we're like, 'This feels like a party,' so it's dope." www.rollingstone.com/music/news/miley-cyrus-ready-to-make-a-statement-after-two-years-20120924#ixzz27PJpeQEA

I think it's too early and a mistake for this kind of CD. Even if she does score a hit, it's going to be because ofthe other person. A Miley/Beiber duet is what i'm thinking.

She hasn't had a hit since party In the USA back in 09 please. Can't Be Tamed went #15 pn CHR and Top 10 on HOT100. It went platinum too. That's a hit. and Miley has way more airplay power than Bieber I love Miley! Can't freakin' wait

Maybe this is what that rumored Rihanna duet - 'Stop Me' - was for?

Maybe, her reps denied this, but the other producer said he can't talk about what they're doing so I think that they're trying to keep this under wraps still.
I still want a country album, thats what she said she was thinking of doing next at the AMAs....

Would also love a Demi Lovato and Miley duet. This is very exciting and interesting news. Demi's Miley's best friend and they've been talking about doing a duet forever, they were suppose to record one for Demi's album before Demi went into rehab, maybe they'll record one for this!!

Yeah, Miley/Demi and Selena pretty much hate eachother now, so I doubt that would ever happen. I really liked Send It On but I'd die if Miley and Demi did a duet. Miley's videographer said that Demi's probably gonna open up for her at her shows in Brazil this year I'm sure they'll do a duet in concert!!

Miley's having shows in Brazil this year?? I think 2 or 3, but you have to enter a contest to win tickets. A company is paying for her to come over their and you have to buy their product to win tickets.

Interview with the Screen Writer of Wake, the movie Miley's filming after SO Undercover.: www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/articlenews.php?id=17706Exclusive: Christopher Landon on Wake Source: ShockTillYouDrop January 10, 2011 Screenwriter Christopher Landon (Disturbia, Paranormal Activity 2) spoke with Shock Till You Drop today about his directorial debut, the horror anthology Burning Palms and updated us on the status of his next script, Wake, a supernatural thriller based on the book series by Lisa McMann. "It's sort of a vehicle for Miley Cyrus," Landon says , "She is looking to sort of get out of her cutesy Hannah Montana image, which she's actually doing quite well. She wanted to do something a little edgier and a little darker, so we're making this movie hopefully...It's about a teenage girl who has a rare form of narcalepsy. When she's within a certain distance of someone sleeping, she passes out and goes into their dreams."[/b][/i] Though the source material is young adult fare, Landon says that both it and the film version don't fall far from the horror genre. "It definitely has a spooky element to it," [/b]he says, " It's slightly origin-story-esque... She sees it as a curse. You know, something that she keeps very secret and hidden and, as a result, has sort of isolated herself. Then, through circumstance she ends up having to embrace it. She has to use it to solve a crime, if you will. It's fun. We get to really play with the visual kind of thing. It's not like 'Inception' where it's very consistent because we're going in and out of so many different people's dreams and nobody dreams alike. Some of it will be animated. Some of it will be really, really big with epic-looking stuff. And sometimes she lands in a dream where absolutely f**king nothing is happening which, you know, is very true to life."

If she would release a country album she'd have to go back to the good girl image which I doubt she would do.

She asked her fans if they would be okay with it and they all made sure her back up singers told her thats what they wanted. and I disagree. plus Miley made it very clear with Can't be Tamed that this album was a fun album for the fans and not the kind of music she wished to purse in the future. Country and Rock are way more suited to her abilities then Pop. Plus her dad and how he was treated was why she harbored a lot of hard feelings towards the country music industry and hes currently pretty much out of the picture, meaning there is one less barrier towards her pursing that direction if thats what she wants.

Can't Be Tamed was full of ballads.....I don't get how it was a "fun" album. The thing with CBT is that it doesn't have a theme. The songs are all random and weird. I mean Can't Be Tamed and Forgiveness & Love....WTF? What type of message is she trying to send? Those songs are complete opposites and they're on the same album

I can definitely see how CBT was a fun album for the fans, it was much more of a style that some fans wanted, then what Miley herself wanted. and Miley's albums never follow, they always have a little bit of everything, some times a little bit of a few different genres, shes not the type to stick to one genre for an entire album, which is going to be a problem for her in the future.
I think a lot of her older fans are really looking for an acoustic or country album from her. I've seen a lot of them say that and a lot of them tell the people in her band that on twitter. Its going to happen eventually. who knows if her next album will be country like she said she wants it to be but i can't see her continuing with how can't be tamed was. a lot of her older fans hated the production and she herself has said that styles not her. Maybe she'll do more kind of pop rock stuff

i didn't say all older fans.
I've seen a lot of fans of Miley that are college age and older, say they disliked CBT because it was too produced and took out everything that makes her Miley, I think going anymore pop then CBT would alienate those fans entirely.
on the flip side a lot of those tweens and teens that haven't abandoned her want her to be more pop. Its hard to please everyon, she has a wide group of fans, thats why having a little bit of everything on her albums has worked so well, but i don't think she can continue to do that.
