I'm not surprised, we know Pat and Clive just wanted to make a dollar.

the sounds quality is terrible. it sounds like it was ripped from low-quality videos from the internet. #disappointed

If I was in charge of this live album, I most definitely would've included a live performance of Saving All My Love For You, first and foremost.
2nd, I would've picked the world music awards performance of IWALY over South Africa. I would've taken out I Believe In You And Me and replaced it with Why Does It Hurt So Bad, that performance is a must! I also would've included This Day from the VH1 Honors.
If I had to include a more recent performance I would've included Million Dollar Bill from X Factor Italy, or I Look To You from Wetten Dass. I feel those are vocally better than IDKMOS from Oprah.
Other than that, I feel all the other performances are great and showcase her talent as a live performer.

I Look To You was definitely the song she performed best in her last few years. Wetten Dass was my favorite recent performance.
Upsetting to hear the audio quality is not great. Ummmm, you would think they would have high quality originals from these award and tv shows.

Why Does It Hurt So Bad, that performance is a must! This is the most glaring omission. They clearly wanted her entire career to be represented, while sticking to her big hits as much as possible, but this could have easily replaced "I Believe In You And Me".

Review from a fan who went to the Sirius XM listening party today hosted by Clive Davis, and Pat Houston:
Wow, my mind is still a bit blown.
We met up around 5 PM outside of the enormous building that houses Sirius XM and many other offices. In the lobby, we did end up seeing Pat Houston unexpectedly. We didn't meet her, but shortly after when we saw Clive Davis come in, we corrected that mistake! We went up and introduced ourselves, said we were here for the WH event, and shook his hands. That was quite a thrill! We didn't really have the opportunity for much else, but just this was a nice experience.
Upstairs on the 36th Floor, we went into a cozy seating area while they prepared the small stage room. By small, I mean SMALL. There were only like three rows of chairs and two cushy seats in the front for Pat & Clive. xYanax asked if we should sit in the front row, to which I said, "Hell yes" LOL We were literally less than ten feet away from Clive & Pat, and I was directly across from Clive.
Clive spoke most of the time, with some small parts by Pat. He introduced a few videos on a DVD screen near us: Home, YGGL, GLOA, IWDWS, MLIYL, IBIYAM & IDKMOS. It was mesmerizing.
So much to absorb, I will have to come back later to remember tidbits. But, I especially loved hearing him talk about how Whitney was creatively involved from the very beginning and had final say on material. One anecdote in particular, he talked about listening to a demo with Whitney for a song (like IWDWS) once. The second time they listened she was learning the words and mouthing them along. But by the third time, she had her own unique interpretation of the song -- just like that. He called her a "vocal genius" in this way.
Another highlight was hearing about the back story to IBIYAM-- which we knew, but it was great to hear him tell it, how she called him up and insisted on performing. You can tell why he included this song.
He left at the very end and Pat ended the session. She talked about how ILTY was for the fans. How uncomfortable she was doing this promotion because Whitney should be here doing it. I was never a "Pat-hater" like others here, but I really got to see the hurt in her eyes and the love for Whitney.
At the very end, we lined up for photos with Pat, which will be e-mailed to us.... and each got an autographed copy of the CD/DVD. I thought only xYanax would get it, so I was thrilled to get mine!
As I continue processing, I will share more that I remember. But it was quite an experience -- sadness, joy, enjoying it as a fan, but also feeling for Clive & Pat because you can tell she meant the world to them. Whirlwind.

Thanks for the shout-out ;) It was a cool experience. One thing I didn't realize, or didn't see in all of the articles before, is When You Believe from the Oscars is on the DVD. So, a bone for Mariah Carey fans there. In my opinion, the audio and video quality is excellent overall.

Thanks for that, Bojangles- is that the first time the full concert, with professional footage, is available?

Thank you- indeed, more than good enough. :)
I know some aren't crazy about it, but, overall, I like when she mixed up the vocal arrangements for the songs. It was a part of her vocal artistry.

Well at least it was on the higher end of their estimates. Maybe when soundscans numbers come out it may be a little higher.

Regardless of sales and some omissions in track list, at least they finally released a 'live' opus for Whitney. I think a lot of people - are so used to how polished the records were (and so used to other artists using technology to 'enhance' vocals), that they have no idea or have forgotten just how great she was live. I was bummed that IHN didn't get it's own track and, I think there may have been a rights issue with MTV awards for WDIHSB - thank goodness I kept the CD single.
