I'm only speculating but I think this might have something to do with anti anxiety medicine, in specific xanax. As someone who used to self medicate with it in the past, it's easy to get addicted to, and I believe she was treated for her anxiety several times after her mothers death. It can seriously slow down your breathing, and it can be easy to take one too many and just not realize how impacted by it you seriously are. Whatever the case may be, I'm glad she is improving and hope she comes out of this the same. There were reports when this all started that Nick and his friend found her unconscious after she called him threatening suicide.

Statement from the Houston family: Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support. This is so heartbreaking, it's hard to believe it's happening. The comments on some of the media outlet stories make me absolutely sick. She's a young woman who's had a lot of hardship in her life, and she needs a miracle. Prayers to her poor family. I've learned to not even scroll down to read the comments on any media sites - those sections always seem to bring the worst of out human beings, it's terribly sad.

TMZ has reported that Bobbi Kristina's condition has improved significantly since yesterday (swelling went down, oxygen levels improved) but it's still touch and go and even if she makes it, she's going to suffer permanent neurological damage. :(

Wow... this is awful. I'm relieved to hear she's recovering, but the damage and aftermath will be heartbreaking.

Bobbi Kristina Family Says Cops Found Drugs in House
Police found drugs in Bobbi Kristina's house in the wake of her near drowning ... this according to her family. We've confirmed ... over the weekend cops went back a second time to search the house. The first time they went they found nothing, but we're told they went a second time and seized several items. Cops will not confirm they found drugs, but family sources tell TMZ authorities told the family that is indeed what was found. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... they believed from the beginning Bobbi Kristina ended up face down in a bathtub as a result of drugs. As for why cops didn't find anything during the first search ... we're told they were only looking for items that were "out in the open." Law enforcement tells us the second search was more thorough. www.tmz.com/2015/02/03/bobbi-kristina-drugs-found-bathtub-home-cops/#ixzz3QgH566u7

Weren't benzos (xanax) also found in Whitney's system? This is horrible, I hope her brain activity continues to improve.

Weren't benzos (xanax) also found in Whitney's system?. Along with weed, coke, and alcohol. There definitely wasn't one drug responsible for her drowning.

Weed obviously wans't a factor, she'd also have to be ingesting high levels of cocaine and since it's an upper it's not going to make her fall asleep in the tub. Mixing alcohol and xanax can easily cause someone to fall unconscious.

This is sad. Why does she have these type of people around her? I really want her to push through because I really think this will be her wake up call. She has too many abusers in her corner. It makes me (if I could) step in to help her because those who are around her don't have her best interest at heart. Also if she managed to pull through, Bobby needs to be with his daughter everyday.

UPDATE; Bobbi K has been moved to Emory University as of 20 minutes ago
just heard that this is the family's last attempt to see if there's any hope for her survival. Emory is one of the best hospitals in Atlanta for neurological problems.

Unfortunately, I don't feel that there is much hope and this last move seems like a last ditch effort. It would be such a tragedy to lose both mother and daughter essentially the same way. What a terrible thing for a family to go through.

It's also been confirmed that Nick Gordon and Bobbi Kristina are not legally married.
So Bobby Brown is her legal next of kin and will make all decisions.
People have gone longer than 5-10 minutes without oxygen, been on life support, and came back to tell the story. If she has brain function, Bobby should not feel pressured to make any life changing decisions within just one week. I really pray for her recovery. It's happened many times!
I just hope they get to the bottom of what really happened.

So glad they're not legally married, I was worried he'd get all of Whitney's money, not that Bobby is much better.

Not sure how all of that works, but I don't think Bobby automatically inherits Whitney's estate if Bobbi Kristina were to pass. Isn't Pat the executor of Whitney's estate? Somehow I don't see her allowing Bobby anywhere near Whitney's fortune if she can help it...

Unfortunately, Pat and Whitney's blood relatives will obtain her fortune. Bobby will not be in the picture on that because he and Whitney are no longer together. His sole responsible will be Bobbi's health decision. It would've been different if they were still married at the time of her death.

New Details Emerge on Bobbi Kristina Brown's Hospitalization
by Raphael Chestang 7:50 PM PST, February 03, 2015
ET has learned that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been moved to Emory University Hospital after being rushed to North Fulton Hospital over the weekend. ET's Nischelle Turner was on the ground in Georgia gathering new details on Bobbi Kristina's hospitalization.
According to a source, Bobbi Kristina, who had reportedly been placed in a medically induced coma, opened and closed her eyes, which can be taken as a big stride forward.
Dr. Rachael Ross of The Doctors told us what this could mean for Bobbi Kristina.
"My take from this is that Bobbi Kristina has hit a plateau that typically the average person doesn't pull out of, but under the care of EU and physicians there the hopes are that they can work a miracle," Dr. Ross said.
Bobbi Kristina was reportedly found face down in a bathtub of water just days shy of the third anniversary of the death of her mother, Whitney Houston. The man who called 911 was 24-year-old Maxwell Lomas, a friend who had recently been sprung from jail on drug possession charges.
"We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina," Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, legal counsel for Bobbi's father Bobby Brown, told ET.
ET's Brooke Anderson sat down with grief counselor David Kessler, an expert on healing and loss, to get his take on what Bobbi Kristina could have been feeling leading up to the incident.
"There was no coincidence that she was in a bathtub," Kessler said. "Many times in grief, people will reenact the scenarios or mimic. If their loved one had chest pain, they get chest pain. If your mother died in a bathtub, you might wonder what that was like."
Bobbi Kristina's mother Whitney Houston was found dead on Feb. 11, 2012, of an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub in Los Angeles, in which drugs and heart disease were also said to have played a part.

Bobby has reportedly been singing some of Whitney's songs to Bobbi Kristina in the hospital. :'(

The best thing he could do! Singing has been proven to help those suffering from brain damage/trauma... especially familiar melodies.

My lord. This is getting bleaker by the day. My heart and soul go out to this family in pain. I can't even imagine...As terrible as it may sound, I feel like they really need to let Bobbi K go. If the worst should happen, in time, they will accept that at least the girl is finally at peace and with her mother, where she apparently wants to be, based on her actions. She has been depressed since her mom died, they were best friends from day 1...I'm not sure if she will ever be happy again until they are reunited, honestly. This whole situation makes my heart hurt.

Reports are coming out now saying doctors have already told the family there's nothing left they can do and left it up to the family to leave her on life support or take her off.

What an absolute tragedy and between Bobbi Kristina and her mum, a harsh, harsh lesson in the devastating effects of drugs and depression. I hope the latest reports are incorrect, but I suspect in this case, no official news is not good news. So sad.
Who'd have thought that Whitney's legacy would end this way.

It's being reported all over that she's being taken off life support today. What a tragedy this family has experienced the past few years. Just awful!

My mother passed in a similar fashion. My brother and I were the ones that had to make the decision to take her off life support due to her brain being without oxygen for so long. Everything comes and goes in less then 48 hours. Hardest decision that I both regret and have thought about everyday.

You never know how that person's way of life will be if they were to actually recover from this. Prayers for the family.
