This is getting truly incredible reviews. It has an 88 on Metacritic (Aerial and Director's Cut both have 81).

I definitely prefer this over Director's Cut, and I think I prefer it over Aerial too.

It's miles ahead of Director's Cut. It's funny how most fans think that was completely pointless but it still got such amazing reviews. As far as Aerial goes, I see them as being almost like two sides of the same coin. I think I'll probably continue to listen to songs from Aerial more because it's so much more accessible and even the second side works as individual tracks much more than anything from 50 Words For Snow. I've yet so listen to any of the songs on it (apart from "Wild Man") separately. It's not music I can really listen to without focusing my entire attention on. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing and it's genuinely been years since I've heard an album that I think is as good as 50 Words For Snow. It's so intense and moving and truly functions as a work of art, and for that I think it's better than Aerial and probably her best record since Hounds Of Love, which is no mean feat.

News round up! 50 Words For Snow has been #5 in the UK mids all week. Director's Cut peaked at #1 in the midweeks and went on to debut at #2 on the official chart, but Snow is selling more. She's releasing a short stop-motion film to promote the album called Mistraldespair. It features clips for "Wild Man", which streamed on her website on Monday, "Misty", which is streaming now and "Lake Tahoe", each of which last two and a half minutes. Some new promo pics are now out there: She's doing some interviews for the album too. You can hear the one for 6Music here (the segment starts at 1:06:45); Radio 4 and WDR2 in Germany here. The album is still getting incredible reviews, but the 'is it all it's hyped up to be?'-style articles are starting to come in now and it's down to 87 on Metacritic. The highest I saw it go was 91. A selection of reviews, good and bad, can be read here.

I heard this first on NPR's homepage and really got hooked on this amazing woman again and agree with the comments about Hounds Of Love.

She sold 49,812 first week for number five. The number four album sold almost double so that was the best she could hope for. Director's Cut sold 34,755 for number two in May. Aerial sold 91,473 for number three in November 2005.

This album is brilliant indeed. I would calss it in my top 5 albums for this year. I was never a fan of Hounds of Love as most people, maybe cause I don't think the first half of that album is anything special.
I'd rank her albums like this:
1.- The Dreaming 2.- 50 Words For Snow 3.- Never For Ever 4.- Lionheart 5.- The Sensual World 6.- Director's Cut 7.- Hounds of Love 8.- The Red Shoes 9.- Aerial 10.- The Kick Inside

This was posted on Kate Bush News earlier, but it has since been removed: Here's a picture of Jude Law which has surfaced. People hosting it have been asked to take down too: Apparently somebody who's working on the video says it has 'a dance feel to it'. There's a rumour that there's an album with new and old tracks and speculation that it's for a greatest hits with just "Running Up That Hill" re-recorded, à la The Whole Story/"Wuthering Heights". I'd be thinking a Director's Cut for The Dreaming and Hounds Of Love if she hadn't already released two albums in the past year or so. Even if it's just something for the Olympics I'm still stunned at how prolific (for Kate) she's been recently!

Lots of rumours this week that she's performing at the Olympics closing ceremony. The new remix of "Running Up That Hill" was up for pre-order earlier this week on Amazon with a release date of Sunday, but it's since been removed.

She didn't perform in the end, but the new remix of "Running Up That Hill" was played. It debuts at number six in the UK today, becoming her first top ten hit since "King Of Mountain" reached number four in 2005. The Whole Story is up 92-21 on the album chart.

Kate Bush Sells Out 22 London Comeback Concerts in 15 Minutes
English singer-songwriter Kate Bush is performing live for the first time in 35 years, so it's no surprise the tickets have turned into a hot item. Still, though, the response to Bush's Before the Dawn concert series has been astounding -- tickets to the 22 dates sold out in less than 15 minutes this morning, according to the BBC. All shows take place at the same venue, London's Hammersmith Apollo, making the mass sellout even more impressive. According to the BBC, tickets that originally sold for 135 pounds (approximately $224) are being resold on secondary sites for upwards of 1,000 pounds (approximately $1,662). ... www.billboard.com/biz/articles/6029159/kate-bush-sells-out-22-london-comeback-concerts-in-15-minutes

That And Dream Of Sheep" video is nice, even if nothing happens. I read that she had mild pneumonia for filming for hours in the water, so she took a break of a day and then continued filming. But the video seems to be done in a single cut... I wonder what happened there to require over a day of filming.

#1 UK Midweeks. If it ends up there on the final chart (5k ahead of Little Mix right now) it will be her fourth chart topper and first in nearly 30 years (The Whole Story hit the top in January '87).
I haven't heard this yet, but I listened to her interview with the BBC and she said that while there are no current plans to release it, they did film the show one night as well. She said she wanted this to be an aural experience of the show because she loves live albums and was looking forward to resting for a bit and begin writing her next album.
