Isn't it better to just release a cd from someone like Jordan Sparks who hasn't been all that big for years besides for "Sparkle" and her relationship w/Jason Derulo then not release it at all? I can't imagine it hurting her career if they just release it to ITunes and maybe send out very few copies to the stores or even do an exclusive with a store??? I mean wouldn't it be a waste of money to just shelve the whole project?
Is her current single not getting any airplay yet???

I hope they push that song to Urban AC.

Is she going to spend all her money on mid-budget videos?

Boyz In The Hood
I love this - especially the verses! I think it would have made a great lead single for the project. Probably the most radio-friendly song we've heard so far.

Speaking of Boyz In The Hood, it's so sad that Dr. Dre's album (which has already been widely available online for 2 weeks prior to the 21st) will outsell Jordin. Ugh. What could have been. Based on what I have heard though, I will be giving her my coin.

Weird, I feel like Boyz In the Hood is the first time that I'm hearing that "inauthentic" problem that people had with Double Tap. What dope boy has JSpeezy ever dated? Jordin as Instagram addict makes so much more sense. BITH is very cute though. Feels dated for urban, but it's the most pop-leaning of everything I've heard from her so far.

I'll pass on "Boyz N The Hood". I can buy the urban thing from her when it's those light breezy more mature songs... but not with this one and "Double Tap".

Weird, I loved Double Tap and just about every other song we've heard from this project but Boyz in the Hood doesn't work for me.

The album sounds like it will be a cute little summery R&B listen. I might pity pre-order it from Amazon for $8.99.

Boyz In The Hood is awful. But I'm still lowkey excited about this. 100 Years is so, so good.

Wow, the pronunciation of "hood" is extremely grating.

Just as I thought, it's a cute, flirty, summery R&B album. I need to listen again to pick out my favorite but hands down 11:11 is the best thing on there.

The album is definitely a lot better than I thought it would be, based on what we've heard already. I like "Work from Home," "1000," "Silhouette," "Casual Love," "Unhappy," "Tell Him I Love Him," and "100 Years." Overall, it's definitely her best work.

Casual Love and 1000 are my immediate favorites -- but I still think 11:11 might be the best overall. Definitely Jordin's best album so far.

Early favorites:
100 Years (ofc) Unhappy (smash I didn't expect!) 11:11 Casual Love Silhouette
Overall, solid album. I'm picking it up once it's available here physically.

wtf happened to jordin's career? she was playing free shows in vegas last weekend, a show at fashion show mall and another free show on a gay club?! i didnt know she was doing this bad. i was planning to see her gay club show after kelly's concert but none of my buddies r into her or even knew who she was. so we went to the bigger club instead.

Not bad, Jordin! Principal songwriting credits on half the album! I'm actually surprised she didn't write Double Tap though.

Can't say I'm surprised she wrote IAY (doo-doo breath) but props to her for penning 11:11 and LR.

Yeah...that song had Jordin's name written all over it LOL. Shoulda been a bonus track. Too juvenile and doesn't fit the rest of the album. There are already 2 pseudo-ratchet bops on the album as is.

Jordin was at the Apollo in Harlem (which is about a 15 min walk from me), giving out CDs as part of a ClaimIt promo. She is also going to be at the Century 21 (kind of like a big ghetto outlet store) downtown near my office tomorrow signing autographs, but the autographs won't be personalized and it will only be a signed copy of her new album. I skipped the Harlem event because it was almost over by the time I got home today but I might go sniff around tomorrow to see if I can spot her at Century 21. Edit: This is not even in the top 200 on ITUNES. Poor Jordin. Meanwhile, she is all over the place geographically promoting this so it's not like the label can be blamed. She was in NY today, flew out to LA to perform, and is back in NY tomorrow.

So how is this project/album holding up on iTunes ? Never really was into Jordin Sparks I do like a few songs by her. I can't get into this "ratchet movement" she's trying to sell. Just comes off fabricated.
