She has some solid UAC singles here. "They Don't Give" needs to be sent there asap

I think "Tell Him That I Love Him" is the biggest UAC hit on the album. It reminds me of the songs Tamar Braxton records.

...except with a singer who stays on pitch and doesn't try to sing outside her range.

Yeah but wanna hazard a guess how much leona is gonna open with come release week. I think it's going to be a very similar situation. Sad. Both talented girls. And Jordin Sparks is just stunning to look at True, but at least the label looks like it's putting in some effort in Leona's case. That automatically gives her a much better shot than being tied to a label that gives zero ****s about her. The latter would take divine intervention for anything to happen.

She's outside the top-50 on HITS charts, both sales and SPS, so she definitely sold under 4k. Tragic.

This is like my favorite album this year LOL. I cant believe I looove this album sooooo much. Work from home, 1000, right here right now, double tap, boyz in the hood, , they dont give, left right, unhappy, tell him I love him!!! OMG! I'm living to Jordin Soarks!
Boyz In The Hood is such a bop! They really need to push that to Rhythmic. It serves me Ariana Grande debut album.

Louder Than Life probably doesn't have enough money to show that they care for her album. New York: A Love Story by Mack Wilds was released by the very same label in 2013 and it reached #179 on Billboard 200. Granted Jordin has much bigger star power and following but...

Yeah, Grammy nod would be great for her. Maybe could help the sales as well.

She's gorgeous. I'm loving this album. Even some of the tracks I was just "ehh" on to begin with have grown on me a lot. I can still live without "Double Tap" and those similar tracks, but the rest is the best she's ever sounded. I realize "going Urban AC" at 25 would typically seem like a bad career move, but I think that's her only shot at any semblance of success with this album. She just seems more like a diva from a different time at this point (the video above is giving pure 90s R&B diva) and having a handful of Urban AC hits is her best bet at keeping her head somewhat above water so she doesn't fade into total oblivion. Maybe if the Urban and Pop landscapes change over the next couple years in her favor, she can re-break mainstream. Robin Thicke was basically an Urban AC act before "Blurred Lines," so I don't think Urban AC becoming her primary format is a death knell to her career. I think letting this album die having only managed a very minor Rhythmic hit could be though.

Full gown in the morning, she looks great. The dress was giving me Mariah on Letterman in 2005 singing "We Belong Together" teas. Beautiful.

The Today hosts introduced They Don't Give as the 'second' single. Does that mean she's not considering the title track as a single, after all? I like that one but I'd totally be okay with her treating it as a promo single only and pushing They Don't Give, which has more potential (even if only marginally so). I agree UAC is her best bet at any kind of attention at this point, I'm just bummed that it's her only bet at any kind of attention.

This might be one of my favorite albums of the year; the Shaggy record and the "doo doo breath" record are the only ones I don't use at this point.
Salaam and whomever else is on her team should've recognized that not only did she take a 6-year hiatus, she took a 6-year hiatus after an underwhelming album release that dwindled her spotlight in the mainstream. By the time they were ready to launch this new music, she was more closely associated with being Jason Derulo's GF-turned-ex than she was with her own music and once Rhythmic showed they weren't interested in her "new sound", they should've ran straight to the Urban markets and tried breaking new music there. I swear some of these camps throw out albums like they are completely oblivious to the marketplace it's landing in. People aren't rushing to buy new albums in general but especially new albums by an American Idol winner from almost 10 years ago making music that isn't similar to the records that might trigger a record buyer's memory to begin with.

I basically have 100 years on repeat. That "Don't go nowhere" line is giving me so much Aaliyah its not funny. Kind of eerie actually.

Yup, 100 Years has that Aaliyah vibe that many R&B chicks are trying to capture but not very successfully. It just comes naturally to Jordin, much more than forced ratchet bops.

Shame this album isn't getting more love. She's straight-up SERVING vocals on "Unhappy" and "Tell Him That I Love Him." Not to mention "Boyz in the Hood" is a total bop and "Silhouette" has some exceptional lyrics. She had a few good singles back in the 2000s, but this is much more interesting as a whole than her teenage offerings. I don't see her making a proper comeback to stardom, but I certainly hope more people get to hear this album and her future offerings.

Debuts at #161 on the Top 200 and #4 on R&B Albums. Based on previous weeks, I estimate her sales are 3,500 MAX.

Seeing those numbers hurt so much because I know how much love was put into this album. It's OK though. The general public has proven time and time again that it really doesn't have common sense or a modicum of good taste, in general, when it comes to what sells. I feel like I am in an elite club now, having paid for this album.

I mean she was gone long enough to lose most of her fans and didn't come back with a hit to win over new ones...
