First four November tour dates cancelled!November 5, 2013 at 9:12amHellooooo out there, It's due time for me to explain why I am rescheduling and unfortunately cancelling some shows. I announced that I was pregnant during the first week of tour. The day after our NYC show on Oct 15th, I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw.) This is not considered a viable pregnancy because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding. We caught it relatively early so I was given a shot of Methotrexate, a mild chemotherapy instead of having surgery. This would hopefully shrink the pregnancy and save my tube. My doctors didn't want me leaving the city so that I was very close to hospital at all times. My mgmt moved to reschedule some shows (we hope to announce information about the makeup dates very soon). This past Monday, Oct 28th, 11 days after the chemo shot and despite our best efforts, my tube started to rupture and I was experiencing internal bleeding. This article was the key I needed to diagnose my own rupture and get me to go to the ER - The Lancet www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(11)61901-6/fulltext. My doctor performed a successful surgery and removed my entire right fallopian tube. [On the bright side my other tube and ovaries are perfectly healthy. I also wanted to note that there is a theory that an appendectomy I had when i was 12 (for a ruptured appendix) had screwed up my right tube with scar tissue etc, and that's why my embryo got caught in the tube. In case you are a woman with a past appendectomy definitely take note.] It is also very important to note that this is the second time I ended up in the ER without underwear! However, upon waking up the next morning in the hospital, and as my doctor was explaining to me what happened the night before, my fiancΓ© showed up. He had flown all night. He had my underwear. My hunter green lace ones:-) I realize I am a lucky woman on many levels here. Unfortunately, today, a week to the day from my emergency surgery I started getting intense nerve pain in one of my incisions. I was all set to fly to Vancouver on Wednesday but, alas, I am not ready yet. So, sadly, I will need to cancel the first four dates of my November tour - this includes Vancouver, Bellingham, Portland and Seattle. I need to stay close to my doctors and the hospital in case this initial pain turns into something more serious. I'm ready to get back out there mentally though and if all goes even remotely as planned I will be ready for San Francisco. I'm so bummed about having to jank up this tour. It started off pretty great. My favorite even. Gimme a couple more days, I'll be ready. Thank you for all your support and understanding through this. Love Vanessa

That's quite awful. She basically had to abort her pregnancy and the complications aren't over.

Stevie Nicks has covered Vanessa's "Carousel" on her new album which just came out: Also, Vanessa is pregnant again! Vanessa Carlton Is PregnantβSee Her Baby Bump!Fri., Jun. 27, 2014 4:20 AM PDT Vanessa Carlton will soon be singing lullabies! The singer-songwriter, known for hits like "A Thousand Miles" and "Ordinary Day," announced that she's pregnant via Facebook Thursday. Including a picture of her baby bump, Carlton wrote, "I can now reveal the reason as to why Liberman will not be released until next summer. See the picture below. No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. It's healthy and moving around like a champ." "I'm bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee. When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for youβ¦in due time! Thanks for sticking with me. [My husband] John, [our dog] Victor and I are over the moon," she said. After sharing the news, she tweeted, " Thanks for all the nice vibes you guys are sending our way." Carlton and John McCauley wed last year in a ceremony officiated by Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks. In November 2013, Carlton revealed that she'd recently suffered a fallopian pregnancy. "This is not considered a viable pregnancy, because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding," she wrote. Carlton experienced complications and had to have her entire right fallopian tube surgically removed. McCauley flew all night to be by her side in the hospital. "I realize I am a lucky woman on many levels here," the 33-year-old pianist wrote. "Thank you for all your support and understanding through this."

I've said it before but I'll say it again. It makes me endlessly happy that Stevie Nicks and Vanessa are such great friends because I've always thought of Vanessa as Stevie's successor.

This wasn't posted here yet, but here's a video for "Blue Pool" Liberman is out in less than three weeks, you can pre-order the album from her website. If you pre-order the deluxe edition($20), you'll get to download "Nothing Where Something Used To Be" and "House of Seven Swords (Original Demo)" after checkout. If you pre-order the standard edition($15) you only get "Nothing Where Something Used To Be" after you checkout. www.vanessacarlton.com/store/ Two songs from Liberman are currently available on iTunes - "Operator" and "Willows" Tickets are on sale for her North American tour this fall - I can only view three selected dates that show how many seats are left, all at City Winery. Chicago on Nov 10th only has 12 seats left while her two New York shows on Nov 30th and Dec 1st have 137 and 148 seats available, respectively. www.vanessacarlton.com/tour/I hope you all are excited for this record/era. She put together yet another fantastic album.

That Blue Pool cover deserves to go in the worst covers thread.
I totally forgot about her new music so I'll check it out. I miss when Vanessa and Michelle were the pop girls of the moment.

Ooh, I should look for her album in stores.
Loved Rabbits on the Run.
Also, should she get a new thread? I'm not sure the original thread creator is still here.

Yeah I don't think that person is here anymore either. A new thread would make sense as it is a new era, 4 years after Rabbits. Although basically this whole page of posts should be under a Liberman era. Album down to 97 in Canada and up to 106 in the U.S on iTunes. Edit: Created a new thread for the Liberman album/era. Here it is.
