She's finally getting a new CHR #1... 3, HIAM and TTWE all deserved to be there too... but whatever... I really disliked 3 :( But you are completely right about hiam and ttwe, 2 of her best songs ever. Yay Britney, here's to hoping the criminal remix is really strong!

Wow, congrats Britney! I'm shocked that this went #1 over TTWE, though.

How far away is the next threat? I hope she stays on top for a couple of weeks.

Amazing! This song is pure pop perfection and deserved to be #1!
Question: How long does this have to stay #1 on CHR in order for it to be #1 on Billboard Pop Songs chart?

I was so nervous at the beginning of this week that Katy not having a new single would make LFN refuse to die / lose it's bullet at pop. THANK YOU JEHOVAH. Congrats Britney!!! Much deserved after HIAM was robbed. How far away is the next threat? I hope she stays on top for a couple of weeks. Hopefully will get next Sunday too, then MLJ will probably overtake it sometime the week after.

I'm happy she got the success with this that she did with this song, but I think it just pails in comparison to Hold It Against Me and Till The World Ends. It just feels so inconsequential.

Awesome. TTWE ends should have gone there as well. A few other singles should have as well.

The mediabase chart now shows IWG's peak as #1, so now it's official.
And I agree that TTWE deserved so much more. It's her most successful and impactful single this era so far and helped this era regain momentum but seems to get short-changed. HIAM, despite its lack of longevity, gets the distinction of being her highest peaking single in several countries from this era. It also gave her, her largest singles sales opening week ever and gave her another #1 debut on the Hot 100. IWG is her most successful radio single to date, being the first #1 on CHR this era and her only single to ever break 100 AI. The only thing TTWE still has going for it in terms of chart statistics is its longevity, which could end up being topped by IWG.

Peak wise on hot 100, it's better and it's digital sales is way ahead of IWG. So I'd still think TTWE is bigger than IWG, but I'm just glad to see Brit get another #1 on pop

TTWE was overall more successful than IWG... it made a much bigger impact. IWG went to #1 but TTWE is the song that people will remember from this era (unless a later single becomes huge which I doubt).

I agree that TTWE will likely end up being the one people will remember. I said in my post that it's the one that made the most impact this era. Yet it doesn't have the peaks to show for it. HIAM and IWG have less impact yet have better peaks. One being her Hot 100 #1 this era, the other being her CHR #1, respectively. TTWE gets neither distinction, which is a such a shame considering its impact.

Yes! I am so happy this is her most successful radio single to date.
IWG is such a smash. Pop bliss from beginning to end. Quite possibly my favorite single/song by her ever.

OMG YES!! I knew I Wanna Go could do it & the If U Seek Amy chart run comparisons were bulls**t. Seriously, I think this is my favorite Britney single since Everytime. Now if only we could get a surprise Hot 100 #1.

Honestly I'm getting pretty damn sick of 'I Wanna Go is her biggest airplay hit ever!!!11' posts. I know that it has achieved her highest pop spinpeak, overall audience figure, and probably thirty-five and a half other things Exhale came up with, but really, I don't see how this song is anywhere near her hits such as 'Baby One More Time' and 'Toxic.' Obviously just my personal judgment, but even though I love the song, it feels like 'I Wanna Go' is by far her lowest impacting single since 'Radar,' and if you exempted that, 'If U Seek Amy' and 'Break The Ice,' it honestly feels like her lowest impacter since like 2004. So please, so I don't go insane, could we look beyond figures that are obviously 'biased' towards later in time? Thank you.

Not really. I doubt it will get more than 2-3 weeks #1, 2 being more likely. Looking in spins, this weekend, Britney had 12,8 and Maroon 5 had 9,5. Now next week, Britney will probably just have slightly less, I'll say 12,7, and I'm tipping Maroon 5 to climb to about 11,1. Now, the following weekend - if Britney falls to say, 12,3 - Maroon 5 should pretty easily be able to close up that gap and leapfrog her to #1. That gives Britney 2 weeks at the top. Still good, but not a long time. ;) (This is assuming MLJ doesn't surprise stall though, which is always a possibility, but looking quite unlikely for this song.)

^thats what everone was saying about lighters. But yea I don't see this staying on #1 more than 2 weeks. I can see this falling really fast -2000 bullet in two weeks? probably.

Weird to think IWG is #1 and TTWE, which sounds much bigger, was not.

Yay! So glad she got a CHR #1 out of this era! It's a shame really, it should be her 3rd in a row.

That's very strange that it didn't hit #1 on Billboard this week. The difference in spins must be extremely low. I wouldn't be suprised if 50 spins or less separated both songs. I guess it's gonna be 3 weeks at #1 (Mediabase) and 2 weeks at #1 (Billboard).

If it hits No. 1 on Billboard, it will be her sixth at the format. Considering that pop is the format that gives her the most play and how many hits she's had at pop radio, that's not as many as you'd think she would have.
TTWE was a bigger single overall, even though it didn't hit No. 1 at pop radio. The "remix" added some fuel to it, though, but it also peaked slightly higher than IWG on Hot 100 Airplay.

yaaaaaaaaaaaay finallyyyyy this song has reached #1 , soooo happy for Brittttttt cuz she really deserves it definitely TTWE had a much bigger impact but i think it started to smash at a wrong time when the HUGE hits were Smashing a lotttttt !!! so this prevented the song from peaking higher i think!!
