Lead single from hits compilation according to XM Radio debuted last Saturday. Haven't heard more than once, but this had a slightly different feel than the monotonous sludge that the band has put out lately. Should be another big hit.
EDIT : MODIFIED ARTIST

Ah, jeez. This isn't a new song, Artie. This is a remake, featuring vocals from Valora (who?), which will be featured on their upcoming greatest hits package. I believe this is them fulfilling their 5 album deal with Hollywood Records.

Yeah, I don't know who they are either. They were mentioned on Tunelab but I never bothered to check them out.

Wasn't this song on one of the Halo games quite a few years ago? I remember it getting some airplay from that.

In 2004, it was on Halo and on the So Cold EP I think. Then last year it was digitally released, getting it to debut #106 on the Hot 100. Now apparently it's being released as the lead single from a compilation album.

The version I heard on Music Choice Rock last year (probably the version I head on the Halo Soundtrack) I thought was way better than anything on Dear Agony. Hopefully this new version is at least as good because I'm sick of being sick of Breaking Benjamin.

Is it true this song has no members of Breaking Benjamin on it except the singer?

I heard the version with Valora today on Music Choice. I must say, I prefer the original. I'm all for duets when they make sense, but it sounded really forced, and her vocal part took away from the original vocal line a lot. Seether with "Broken" and Shinedown with "Breaking Inside" did a much better job in adding female vocals in a new version of the song as they changed the arrangement of the male vocals to accommodate the duet. Here, it sounds to my ear like Ben didn't even re-record his vocals, but rather they just tacked hers on. A lazy choice, and it shows.

I think they've always wanted to release this to radio. Hopefully a 7th consecutive top 10 on Active.

Her contributions would have been better if they would have done it so she had her own lines without the original vocal track underneath. I mean, I can see her voice complimenting Ben's but...this is just too effin lazy in execution. The breakdown with Ben's screams and her overdubbed lyrics was just especially painful to hear. BRB. Listening to the original version to purge this out of my head.

The screaming part was particularly cringy. Her voice is OK, but it just didn't work at all in this song. Completely ruins it, for me.

Yeah the one time I heard it the screaming seemed a little out of place.

Yeah the one time I heard it the screaming seemed a little out of place. Uh, the original had the screaming. It's the overdub stuff that's making it even more out of place.

Haven't heard the original. Either way, it didn't fit.

Seeing as I've always felt the original "Blow Me Away" was one of the better songs in an overall mediocre, at best, catalog, I thought it was cool the song was getting an official release. Reading about the new female vocals added in and, now having streamed the new version mere minutes ago, my reaction was, "Oh. You shouldn't have. Thanks for nothing." Original: B New version: F

Infact, the adds date pages of both Allaccess & FMQB have removed the "Featuring Valora" tag that was attached to the song.
