I definitely want to pre-order the CD. Should I wait or just pre-order the digital copy? Is the album going to be self-titled? They made more avaliable if you want to order! And I'm gonna be optimistic about getting a few places higher. I don't see a top 10 hit with this due to timing getting close to another single for Fall and the slow logjam of the Summer chart, but I certainly see a top 15.

I do think it will get a few places higher, but not this week. I agree with countryhistorian--if neither Blake nor Chris goes recurrent this week, Scotty might have slip back to #19, as the EYB's "Crazy Girl" looks about ready to pass ILYTB.
And, are we certain that they're going to put out another single before the album? I'm not so sure anymore. This has been a decent success, and while I do think stronger follow-ups could do better, how do we know they won't keep pushing this for another 2-3 months and have the album out in October/November?

It was just announced today that Scotty's album is coming out on October 4. The video is coming out next week. I think they are sticking with this to see how far it will go.
I am getting the sense that his album won't need a perfectly timed single racing up the charts to have really great first-week sales.

I agree with the above 2 posts. I don't think the plan is to ditch this single and release another song before the album drops. I think they'll put the video out and they will continue to push it until the album drops (maybe longer). I don't see why not, because this still has a lot of life left in it, and with the video coming out, it will only breathe new life into it. As the chart opens up in the coming few weeks some, this should continue to move back up. I forsee a Top 10 hit for this one yet.

Well that'd be cool if they did do that and try to push ILYTB into the top 10. I only said it'd be top 15 I thought if they went for a new single. The song in my opinion deserves to be top 10, if it were up to me it'd be a multi week #1 but I'd settle for top 10 for sure! Lets hope the video gives it that boost! Maybe they'll just debut the next single along with the new album in October. I could see him doing the TV promos for the album singing a new song. It sounds like good timing!

The video is really good! I hope this boosts his airplay. I've heard it 3 times on 2 different stations today and all 3 times the DJs promoted the video.

Its just the first day, they will probably put more hard copys on sale. They probably just had a limited amount to await the response. I'd give it a few days. You could always go to your local CD store or Walmart to buy the actual CD on the day of release. In Chart news he was 18 again in Billboard and 17 on Mediabase. With Chris Young and Jason Aldean soon to go recurrent could he move up to 15? Could happen! I'll be pessimistic and say the following: Even though I do not predict chart movements, I will say the following will happen. Jason Aldean, Chris Young, and Blake Shelton (Honey Bee) will get one more week. Then positions #18-#20 will look like this: #18-Crazy Girl-Eli Young Band #19-I Love You This Big-Scotty McCreery #20-God Gave Me You-Blake Shelton Of course, I could be wrong and it all depends on what happens over the weekend. However, I do not see a three point jump for McCreery. Sorry! Finished just as I said last week. After this week, maybe I Love You This Big can gain three spots after Chris Young and Blake Shelton leave the chart, plus the possibility of Jason Aldean (highly unlikely).

Ya on Billboard it was 19, he did made it to 16 on Mediabase when Jason fell off of there. I know the 2 charts are tracked different but I like the Mediabase # better

Wow! A 19 to 15 jump on Billboard this week with a bullet! Nice!
Still 16 on Mediabase but when Eric, ZBB, and Lady A Drops he should at least move to 15 there too but he does have Blake hot on his trail.

^It's nice when a lot of songs go recurrent, right? I'll bet this makes the top 10 yet. I don't see it going to #1, which is fine by me because I still don't like it, but I like the guy singing it and his album sounds promising, at the very least.

Single went Gold today with sales of 503,000. Its now #15 on both Mediabase and Billboard. Not bad for good ole Scotty!
Now #15 for a 2nd week! He actually held Blake off! If we get 2 or 3 go recurrent next week, this song could even go up to 13 or 14. This song just keeps on going. I'm looking forward tho to this era being over and the next single being released prior to "Clear as Day" coming out. I think ILYTB already shattered all expectations and made its place in history. Time for something new and better!

I haven't been keeping up with him (or Lauren) post Idol but I saw they both released their videos just a few weeks ago- did they decide to market the two Idol singles as the first singles from their albums? I hope they both have the real singles out sooner than later with both their albums barely a month and a half away.

Yes, both of them released their coronation singles from Idol as their debut country radio singles as well.

Scottys looks like its about peaked with airplay. I have a feeling there will be a new single after Labor Day in prep for the new album. Hes finally going negative on the Mediabase daily chart and he's been hovering near there for 2 weeks. If it does move up it'd be default cause of 2 or 3 songs dropping off, that is if hes not passed but no ones really close to him this week. So 15 was the peak and hes at 16 now and should stay there for another week or 2. Then I really think we'll hear a new single. As for Laurens they need to give it a rest and send a new one out. Radio is just not interested in it, 40s seems to be its home on the charts.
From what I hear Scotty has some of the best songs recorded from some of the best writers in Nashville. I already heard a demo of the title cut and its incredible. I'm expecting a great single and album to come!

I think that, if they've pushed this song this long, they'll keep pushing it. While this has gone Gold and has been a top 15 hit, however, I think Mercury missed out on a chance to get Scotty a really big hit, when they opted to keep this "coronation" song instead of a different song. Same goes for Lauren.
But really, since they did decide to stick with this song, I kinda doubt that they'd send out a new single a mere 4-5 weeks before the album. The only reason I could see them doing that is because Scotty did win AI, so regardless of where his current single is on the chart at the time of his album release, the album will still sell well...but I could see them hoping for a top 10 yet with this and sending out the new single later in September or early October.
But maybe my hunch is wrong and they will just send out a new single soon. I don't like this song so I'd rather have a different single sooner than later, but I'm just not sure that they will indeed send one out right away.

Yeah, I meant would this be the first single to push the album. Yes. This was made obvious a while ago when this climbed into the Top 20 and has been on the charts for several months. If they had plans for another song to be the lead single, this wouldn't still be around.
