Twenty years. Time flashes by like lightning in the sky.
I had to pull my CD out and play this tonight. I've always loved this album, but I can definitely appreciate it more today. I don't know if it's just aged like a fine wine or if it's because my life experiences have changed so much in the past few years. Probably both.
Please don't leave. I don't wanna be left all alone. 😔

Mama yooooke? That used to be my nickname.
I was pretty young at the time and used to feel uncomfortable listening to Free Xone but at this stage of adulthood (and really knowing who I am), I can appreciate Janet making a song with such a socially progressive message back in 1997. It still isn't my favorite song on the album, but I enjoy it a LOT more. The production is so off the wall.
