Now that I've heard the song, I can completely see the distaste for these lyrics, but the song itself doesn't seem as piss poor as some of the other FFDP songs that I've heard. I've never been fond of the singer's voice and since there's mostly screaming in this, it takes away from his vocals a bit. When he actually is singing, it doesn't seem nearly as bad.

I wish this band would go away, never to be heard from again. Enough is enough with this hollow, roid-rage bullcrap. I can't imagine Motograter was even 1/5 this obnoxious. I imagine they were probably closest to something like L.D. 50-era Mudvayne, am I wrong?

Well actually, Motograter kind of sounded a lot like this, but you could like it more.

As somebody who like Nick passionately dislikes FFDP, my opinion is that the Motograter's songs are MUCH better than this piece of s**t song and substantially above most of FFDP's catalog.

Looks like a comic book cover...which is kinda cool in a left field way. Has anyone heard the song "Back more" that was just released? There are only poor quality versions of it on youtube but I'm liking what I'm hearing so far.

Can't believe I forgot to mention the first time how cheesy the incessant double bass drum pummeling is in the chorus, as if the guys felt the song would be too "pussy" and "vulnerable" without something "tough" behind Ivan's "sissy" crooning.

Well actually, Motograter kind of sounded a lot like this, but you could like it more. I never saw this until now, but NO THEY DIDN'T! They had a much more industrial nu-metal sound rather than a classic metal meets wrestler metal hybrid. There were lots of electronic and synth elements in Motograter's sound that are non-existent in FFDP's sound. Motograter kinda sounded like a more nu-metal, less industrial American Rammstein with Ivan singing to my ears anyway.

I listen to Five Finger Death Punch and I hear nothing different about it in comparison to Motograter other than that Motograter had stronger songwriting and had, as you say, electronic elements, although they didn't really have that many electronic elements apart from the interludes and I don't remember there being any synth in that album whatsoever. Anyway, the core instrumentation largely remains the same. To be fair, I don't really hear any classic rock elements in Five Finger either, unless Mudvayne and Godsmack are classic rock now.

Not classic rock. Classic metal. 80's metal seems like a huge influence on FFDP with the harmonized solos, the arena rock snare drum sound, the steady double bass, etc. Mudvayne had much more progressive elements, and especially in their early material sounds way more technical than FFDP. Godsmack has some of that classic metal influence too, especially given the way they treat solos in the form of their compositions, and t me is more similar to FFDP than Motograter.

I knew you said classic metal but I typed rock and didn't feel like changing it.
