Holy Molly! That's quite a number of collabs! But I love that there are lots of R&B/ SOUL writers among them. I can't wait for this album.

...yea. Way too many collabs for my taste. Jive was probably so disappointed in the sales of his debut that they took him off writing duties. :( Such an underrated album.
Anyway, I'm excited for this and hope he can at least past 100k easily this time around.

I'm sad that he flopped...I like his voice a lot. Hopefully the material on this album is better than his debut, which I find quite boring.

This could be good! I enjoyed his first album enough. Whether he has collaborators or not doesn't matter to me, as long as the material is good.
I saw he's opening for Lifehouse on tour again. Kind of surprised he isn't working with them on anything.

Kris has stated that he has had a hand in writing every song currently written for possible inclusion on his album. The list of collaborators include other writing partners, producers & instrumentalist who have worked on tracks. There are a lot of songs that get written for an album to choose the final tracks.

The David Hodges songs have me intrigued. Maybe this will be more successful than his debut which was pretty good but didn't give him the huge breakout he needed on radio.

Kris has said that he expects to write or co-write every song on this album. There have been a lot of tweets from his collaborators about working with Kris, and they seem to be excited with what they have come up with. Of course, no one is going to tweet that what they came up with is crap, so we have to take all the excitement with a grain of salt, but it's nice that so many of his collaborators are saying such positive things about Kris.
Reportedly, radio PDs have already heard one of the new songs, at a listening session Jive did for Clear Channel PDs/DJs back in June. Hopefully this is a sign that the first single will be released in the not too distant future.

Very much looking forward to this. His debut (which was unfortunately, as Chris said, quite underrated in my opinion :() was one of my favorite albums last year.

His debut album is good, definitely underrated... It got screwed by Jive releasing The Truth as the second single, seriously, the only good thing about that release was the beautiful video. I hope the lead single is a Kris penned track, it's long overdue.

Now that Jive has closed it's door, do we know which label he's with - RCA or Epic?
Anyway, I'm excited. He's my favorite male vocalist and I loved his last two albums. Can't wait for this one!

The fact that he barely passed 300k even while Live Like We're Dying was peaking, showed that it was lack of interest that made the album flop, not label or artist misteps.

LLWD was a hit, it did not sell the album, but it was a hit. He could at least have had a couple more Top 20 hits, but they screwed that because they released The Truth, that was the point I was trying to make.

Not only that, they waited far too long to release a follow-up single. The second single should have been out in April at the very latest.

I still think they should've released "Alright With Me" as the second single while it was getting some attention from those Ford commercials that aired during Idol... Then they released it after "The Truth," barely promoted it (as far as I know), and a result, it did absolutely nothing. Shame.

Not to preach but can we keep the focus of the thread on Kris's new music he is working on for his second album.

Someone who doesn't know about the past is bound to make the same mistakes again. I think it's appropriate to talk about the way the last album was handled, it's still a Kris' discussion, besides, we don't have that much information about the sophomore album yet.

Glambert flopped hard with FYE and he performed it on one of the biggest television platforms. But he was still able to go platinum, mostly off of one hit. If people were interested in Kris, he would've at least went gold.

Not really. LLWD was not at all a song to sell an album. It was somewhat quirky but nothing about it screamed "this guy possibly makes great music." It was definitely not a good representation of the album & therefore didn't help album sales much. The Truth wasn't even released till the following summer, which was way to late to save his album.

I still don't see how you can blame the label because people weren't interested in the album. Over 1.5 million bought the single, but less than 400k bought the album?
