Maybe they meant it was like Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are."

Maybe they meant it was like Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are." ...or Kelly's song of the same name that leaked last year.

Gerrrrlllls The Booty Patrol is back on CHR! Athough.....this myFM station looks like an Adult Contemporary station? lo loco. This is the Los Angeles HAC station that refused to play "Don't You Wanna Stay" despite my having requested it online and by phone for over a month. And yet they play MLWSWY about 10 times a week and even "Walk Away" and "I Do Not Hook Up" among her recurrents. "Don't You Wanna Stay" could have used the support from the second-largest market's HAC station, so I'm mad about that but...on to new Kelly.

My stations RAN fast from Hook Up. I haven't heard it since the day it peaked. But I hear Suck and AG all the time still.
If they mean't Billy Joel's JTWYA they def should've said so since 99% are going to be thinking of the #1 song from the previous year.

Well, the title sounds terrible, like something I've heard too many times and something that no one relevant would sing. HOWEVER, I'm hoping it's good.

Okay, it's been a while since I paid much attention to a Kelly thread, I think. I forgot how much following she has of the insane fans.
I look forward to new music by her, but could honestly care less whether she performs at the VMAs, whether the song gets leaked, whether it drops on August 30th or before or after, etc etc.
I am excited to hear the song though.

To be fair, most haven't been expressing that quite yet, but the number of posts from a single day, just reminded me how excitable her fan base is. If you want me to take back the "insane" part of the statement, I guess I can wait until we actually hear the song and see what people have to say then. I just was surprised to see 3 pages in a such a short period of time. Reminds me of Britney, Katy, and Lady GaGa, and I forgot Kelly had that kind of fan base, that's all.

But you could have saved some time; if you're going to be rude about people, you might as well make sense doing it on the first try.

I think it takes away a lot of credibility when you refuse to stay above the fray with that. from one rude person to another.

Bringing this over from the album thread. Chances are the song they're referring to is MKIA. Interview with Hit Country & Pop Songwriter Brett James, Two-Time ASCAP Songwriter of the YearsDuring the past dozen years, Nashville-based Brett James has become one of the hottest, most successful songwriters in the music business. He has twice been named Songwriter of the Year at the ASCAP Country Music Awards (in 2006 and 2010). In 2007 James received a Grammy Award for Best Country Song, for co-writing the #1 hit "Jesus Takes The Wheel" for Carrie Underwood. Also, James has been on Billboard's year-end Top Ten Country Songwriters list for seven of the past 10 years. Notably, James has co-written 11 songs which reached #1 on the Billboard Country Songs chart, plus several more singles which made the Top 10. James has also had an impact on the pop charts; he co-wrote the new single "This Time" for American Idol contender Pia Toscano, and he co-wrote the upcoming single by Kelly Clarkson. In addition, James has previously had singles and cuts with Daughtry (the hit "Life After You"), Bon Jovi, Leona Lewis and the Backstreet Boys. DK: I've noticed that you're now having major pop success in addition to country. James: Things have been going well with pop cuts too . I 'm trying to increase my presence on the pop side. I'm pleased to have the current single by Pia Toscano (from American Idol), and I have the upcoming single by Kelly Clarkson. These songs were written with Ester Dean and Bryan Kennedy. Also with Ester, we co-wrote the Scotty McCreery single, "I Love You This Big." www.songwriteruniverse.com/brett-james-123.htm

If Brett James is indeed the writer, he better have learned a lot from writing such a shitty song for Pia. What have Ester Dean and Bryan Kennedy done?

Ester Dean is a painfully overused songwriter. I think she's had a credit on just about every pop release in the past year. All of this just screams bland and generic. I know Kelly is capable of better. This song better be good, or else I will not be happy.

Well she did have a hand in creating one of the biggest pop releases this year (Firework).
I just want to hear the song and if I don't like it I'm pinning it on the songwriters. >:( I am assuming this is a Darkchild production.

It all depends on the producer, I think. Ester and Brian Kennedy probably produced it, and that isn't exciting in the least. This isn't going to benefit from Stargate production like Firework and Rihanna's hits.

LOL @ everyone already judging the song just through a title and who supposedly worked on it...
Ever heard the saying "Don't just a book by it's cover"?

I know Kelly is capable of better. This song better be good, or else I will not be happy. Bland and generic simply because Ester has written alot of hits in the past year????? Wow! I didn't know the qualification for being bland and generic was a song being written by a popular songwriter. That's news to me. I have to hear the song first. It's not like anyone was expecting anything other than bland and generic from Kelly C anyway. Bland and Generic is what Kelly C does best.

Her lead single is crafted by the same team behind Pia fucking Toscano's "This Time"...none of this adds up.
