After reading all the demand for inside out Inside Out decided to check it out and in my opinion Criminal is WAY better than Inside Out!
I loved Britney`s first 3 singles because that`s what I want and expect from her; catchy dance music. Ballads are not her thing with those computerized vocals.

what's funny is that i hear Criminal constantly while I have only heard The One That Got Away on the radio once. I hear Criminal more than i freakin' here We Found Love, even. Funny how your area and local businesses can totally change your perception of a big hit and something that doesn't too to well.

Kind of subjective, don't you think? I can't argue subjectivity (that's merely opinion), but technically I could think the #1 song in the country "sucks", but it would still make it #1 wouldn't it? I'm not really questioning how much this song "sucks" I'm questioning how radio/PDs can go from spinning a third single all the way to #1, and the following barely scrapping Top 20, if it even makes it there. Also does that mean all songs that peak around #22/23/24 "suck"? It isn't just radio though. Clearly, people aren't connecting with it. If it was just radio refusing to play something "different" from Britney, you'd still see people buying the song, even if the radio reception is, uh, lukewarm (to put it nicely), but it's not exactly like this is smashing on iTunes either. This was a terrible single choice from the very beginning and the only reason Jive went for it is because of the very high demand from fans. It's just not suited for radio, and it has NOTHING to do with the "tempo." I don't think the issue is the tempo/style of production/etc. This is not slower than The One That Got Away or Paparazzi and look at those two. I think she needed a midtempo right now. However, just any midtempo won't do. People are attracted to songs on top 40 for several determinants: 1) melody 2) style of production 3) LYRICS. This song's lyrics aren't offensive like Judas, but they are something that maybe people can't relate to. When you really think about it "mama im in love with a criminal" is something that maybe the general public can't relate to on radio.

na i disagree....i mean it just means that im in love with someone i know is bad for me. its a pretty universal concept. certainly no more bizarre than 'et' or 'paparazzi'. it probably is because its a bit more subdued and sophisticated for a britney release and the public isnt used to it. i think its still a good move and my favourite single from her this era. 'how i roll' next please thanks

I know I may be alone here, but I really hope they release Big Fat Bass as the 5th single. I'd be happy with Inside Out too, but I'd prefer BFB. I feel like it could be a huge smash.

I still think "Big Fat Bass" seems like the clear choice for next single. It should have been fourth.

I can't see them releasing or promoting another single at this point.

Heard this on KHKS Dallas last night. They finally picked it up and it was played in the evening so I think it's a good sign?

I have to say, the last couple of updates really don't look good. If this is over, I wouldn't go for a 5th single. Bring on the next era at the end of next year. And let's try to sell some albums this time.
Regardless, I'm glad this was released.

I actually agree with you. I think "Big" could be big. "Inside Out" is a great song, I'm just wondering how well it would do radio wise.

Maybe this can turn around, I have hope, atleast she gained today. I hate the idea my fav song off the album is performing like this, I keep thinking maybe they should edit the video and make a cleaner version so they can censor the parts that make it. Censored?

If this underperforms, I say end the era.
But if this rebounds and ends up becoming another smash, I say either end the era on a high note or release "Inside Out".

Reboundney? Would be nice! But either way, I say release a 5th single - it certainly couldn't hurt album sales and even if it underperformed, at least we would likely get another video! I'd say "Inside Out" or "BFB".

What is with you people? Inside Flop and Big Fat Flop? Ick. I say a fifth single should be released. Gasoline seems the most obvious to me. DDB would be another choice. Heck, go for HIR if we're talking about a fifth single.

I don't see any potential at all in BFB. I can see some in IO, but not enough for me to release it. I think the verses kind of kill it.

Just like criminal, it would be great to see this on her next greatest hits compilation. And also criminal is another amazing video to add to her catalog.

The fact that video only has 2.7M hits is shocking. ITA on a clean edit. It's ridiculous.

They play this shit at the clubs ALL the time. It was the clear fourth single and it would have smashed, but now with Flopminal being an abysmal fail, whatever they release next is bound to underperform, and of course, people will blame it on the song. I say end this era. BFB and Inside Out deserve a better treatment. It's a shame Criminal pretty much ruined everything, but it was to be expected.

I'm glad KHKS jumped on board, I was getting worried this would be my first Britney single I didn't hear on the radio. :'(

Whats with all this love for BFB??? i hate it, one of my least favorite britney tracks ever, i even deleted it from my itunes. its just so monotonous, im sure the only lyrics are ''i can be the treble baby you can be the bass'' or ''the bass is gettin bigger'' its just awful, i really want criminal to pick up, but im still wanting IO to be released 5th - if there is one.

BFB is literally my least favorite Britney song ever. Up until that point she had never made a song that I hated. Well now she has. I guess I can't complain about one song out of hundreds being terrible, but holy shit it is just SO bad. I like to pretend like it doesn't exist.

BFB is probably my least favorite song on the cd and all I can think of when I hear the song is that awful performance where she basically just laid on a box and did half-hearted thrusts and then when they went to the dance breakdown they turned off all the lights so you couldn't see her.
