(Didn't see a thread for that single, and this article is only two days old, so its fairly new news, I assume)
Interesting. I know that song was released to iTunes last week as a "countdown single" and I figured it would always be a radio single, but I hadn't heard anything about it going out to radio yet. Plus, it seems like a strange way to announce it, with not hardly any fanfare.
Anyway, it looks like AWLY might be able to get a 2nd week at #1 on Billboard, possibly holding off Blake Shelton. Blake could still shoot to be #1 the following week, but that'd probably be his last chance, with Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert coming up fast. Ultimately, I'm not gonna predict that Blake will be blocked from #1 just yet, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if Lee was able to block him...AWLY is selling incredibly well and is the kind of big breakthrough, momentum hit that tends to have some longevity.
PS: The 2nd iTunes countdown single was released earlier this week...it's called "Parking Lot Party".
I don't know. We've got conflicting reports now. That tweet says "Hard To Love" video, which I guess is likely for the title track, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be a single. Also, it could mean that they were doing a video for a song from Hard To Love, and just didn't specify the song (though I agree, it probably is for the title track). But the ACM interview was over a week ago, and now something on Lee's website says "I Drive Your Truck" was released to radio? Even though "A Woman Like You" could get a 2nd week at #1.
I just don't know if we can draw a solid conclusion yet. There are several strong choices, though.
They can't go wrong with either song though "Hard 2 Love" feels like a great continuation piece for Lee. Just got the record in the mail today and while I've only had a chance to listen once, the record is solid ("Parking Lot Party" is my least-favorite).
Since Blake Shelton is the new #1 at Country Aircheck/Mediabase, hopefully we'll get a formal announcement tomorrow, or an ad in Country Aircheck tomorrow evening announcing the official choice for his next single.
